I did some research last year and found that the Colts hit on all but one of their first picks from Harrison in 1996 through Joseph Addai in 2006.

Harrison, Tarik Glenn, Manning, Edge, Rob Morris (8yrs in Indy), Dwight Freeney, Dallas Clark, Bob Sanders, and Addai.

Why can't the Cards draft like that?

You, I & many others no the answer to that question...his picture sits below my post!!! He's been in charge way too long for there to be any other answer. It's takes a strong personel man to make draft day decisions, take input from coaches & scouts but ultimately it falls on the GM. The good teams that are good for stretches of years prove that.
