We gave up over 400 yards of offense today... The Chargers didn't punt until their 2ns to last possession of the game!

Yea, we got issues across the entire team. Our QB situation is scary. But, IMHO, our situation on defense is down right horrifying.

No denying that and the issues on defense are baffling... but the point is we knew that we are going to be in a train wreck (QB situation) since the beginning of the year and yet stood pat and then of course got in the wreck. :bang::bang::bang:

Agree 100%. I was getting nauseous watching Matthews and Tolbert bust up our defense like a wet paper towel and Rivers finding Gates in every gap of our pillow soft zone coverage.

I remember probably 2-3 years ago calling for us to trade Leinart for Schaub when ATL had him on the market. It really is a damned shame that we didn't set ourselves up for the future properly....

But, but, we were 2-1!! We beat the Raiders guys! We beat them! We won. It was ugly, but we won! And we beat the Rams in their first game! We won! Sure, it took a missed FG and a HUGE hustle play to get to 2-1, but we were there! Did you taste the Lombardi guys? I did! 2-1. It was soooo sweet! Nothing was wrong with the team..cause wins are all that matter!

Well...we might be stuck on 2 for a while, folks.

Hey guys, can we refrain from using that term about anyone. There is someone on the board who teaches students when learning disabilities and I know they would find that term highly offensive as do I with a cousin who is severely mentally disabled.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Ugh, I have a feeling next week will be a replay DA's first half against a turnover hungry defense but we'll have to live through it for the entire game. I don't have my faith in Hall yet.

I'd like to see Whis commit to the run but even the running game isn't consistent enough to keep the swiss cheese D off the field.

As a caring human being I have to be glad we didn't make that move. Schaub is a fragile and would likely be 6 feet under if he had to play behind this line. He never did anything wrong to us.

Exactly.

I was more upset at our FO than Whis for the Matt thing, when your coach keeps giving hints they despise your QBOTF hopeful maybe it's time for plan B?

I put this down to putrid FO management, I've made no bones about my thoughts about it, the FO that is.

I love Whis but he needs to be surrounded with talented Coordinators, we failed at that.

He needs players he wants with input from his coordinators that are good, since they aren't here he can't get that.

I think Whis has the makings of a great HC but he's not a one man show, we need a team of coaches that are rock solid, and so far we have a big donut in that area except for the HC.

I put this DIRECTLY on the FO, they have allowed this cluster to form and now we're in the perfect cluster for again no reason IMO other than incompetence.

Meanwhile the Chiefs with a strong FO have hired two SB caliber coordinators, granted it was largely luck they were available but look at what it has done.

Also they traded for their QBOTF, went out and spent draft picks......gasp and now they don't have DA or an undrafted FA QB starting.

Wow this is way messed up.

I'm going to have to also grudgingly admit some of this falls on Whis, it always does, he has to know what kind of coordinators he needs and harp on getting them, don't know if he has or not but HERE is where he needed to spend his SB capital IMO, that's where I would have insisted on more help, if he did not then it's on him to that extent but again, this is THE FO's job in the main, letting things get here is THEIR FAULT as much as anyone's IMO.

The FO also pushed Pendergrast onto Whis very early on. Granted, we see how Whis's choice, Davis, has worked out, but what other options were available and likely willing at the time that Whis was effectively disallowed from finding his own DC?

For all I know, the FO told Whiz he had to hire from within as a budget requirement and he picked Davis as his best option

Yes AGAIN!

Davis is the ghost of Pendy and that whole debacle of pushing him on Whis, it's still killing us.

Again, Whis is at fault for his choice of replacements, but what we don't know is how much lattitude he had in the choice in the first place.

This is where the cheapness shows through, I know we pay Grimm a ton, which again is on Whis IMO, it's like a perfect confluence of suck.

Whis when given the choice seems to be screwing it up and when not given a choice the FO is screwing it up.

This is NOT how good teams are run.

Good teams have a FO who are in mortal combat with the rest of the NFL in terms of attracting and retaining talented staffs, you're gonna have turnover, the FO has to be rock solid to keep you stocked up on coordinator and coaching talent.

We blow at this IMO.

I don't know if Matt Cassel is really a QBOF, It has looked like the Chiefs have been winning in spite of him for the past 3 games...

I do however agree that Romeo Crennel has the defense playing a lot better and that Whiz could definitely benefit from some coordinators who can take responsibility for their prospective units.

I think over time he will be.

He's had a lot of changes to deal with every year he's been there, last year they fired the OC in presason and Haley ran it, this year they have another new OC again.

I would expect he'll get better as the year goes on, if not then he very well might not be.
