Huh? The Q trade had NOTHING to do with JJ feeling unwanted or wanting to leave. Q himself had nothing to do with it. We all know you're anti-Q, but this is ridiculous!

It is nice to know that you can read JJ's mind, if so, you are the only one.

JJ's statement "Nash's decoy in the corner" makes me think otherwise.

Yes I am anti Q. I was pro T-Mac and pro Iggy and anti Q.

Bryan tied up money on a RFA SG that they did not really expect to acquire, they were lucky that LAC did not match. They had freed up money to spend in FA and had to make an effort to spend it because they traded away the lottery pick to Chicago. The Suns fans were expecting to have either Deng or Iggy on the roster before and surprisingly after the draft. Then Bryan did a CYA after he could not get Okur or Turkuglu and settled on extending an offer to Q, just because they had money to burn.

As far as potential, they had JJ on the team for 2 years (known skills, unknown potential) and Q was expected to be a low post player (unknown skills, unknown potential). That was probably what the Suns had told JJ, Q would used in a different fashion than what he ended up being, a chucker. Q even stated that they wanted him shooting outside, something Johnson thought probably would be his responsibility.

The more I dwell on the trading of the #7 pick to Chicago it pisses me off even to a larger extent.

The pick we used in return was for Jackson Vroman, Chicago made us look even worse in the deal because they took Chris Duhon with the #38 pick, seven picks later. Duhon played better than any of the point guards drafted last season, he could have been our answer at backup. As much as they like Barbosa, they have got to convert him to a 2 guard and I wish they would admit to it.

Also I was pro Brent Barry when we still had money to spend. He could have been the backup point guard, played the position the prior season, shot 47% from 3pt as well. We never had planted the seed in JJ that he could be a starting point guard, which his agent and Atlanta propetuated. I know that some you think that Barry would not have come to Phoenix but if they would have put the hard sell on him like they did with Nash, I bet there would have been a very good chance.

Bryan started this domino effect by trading #7 and offering Q a contract.

Executive of the Year, my arse.
