Because we knew from the start of the season we would be bad. Because we knew this was supposed to be a very talented freshman one-and-done class. Because we HAVE been so awful. And because we started a legit tank with plenty of games left in the season. I believe we've officially reached our saturation point in terms of debating potential draftees, their fit, their pros and cons, etc.

I mean, this is like scorched earth stuff with regard to fultz, ball, jackson, and Tatum. We are just seeing the same arguments regurgitated over and over again. I'm pretty sure we all know each other's positions in regards to every player. And I have yet to see someone say, "yeah that makes sense. I hadn't considered that. You've changed my mind."

My biggest concern as a result? We have a couple more months of this!

Someone please come up with an interesting alternative discussion!

Read the De'Aaron Fox thread I posted and watch the video that accompanies it. This young man is exciting.

We have to push through the hard stuff to get in shape. :)

Here is something I thought of last night but didn't post it...

Should the suns target Brook Lopez? He's putting up good numbers and is in the last year of his contract. Center is a position of need for us. I wonder if they would take some trade package for him that included Len.

Good idea, pokerface. I was looking at his stats a couple of days ago and, statistically, Brook;s a pretty fair defender as well as being an offensive threat, as we all know. At rim protection he was in the top 10% of C's in FG% against but he didn't challenge that many shots - compared to Len or Williams. I was a bit surprised to see that he's added a 3 pt shot to his arsenal, shot .347 and about a third of his shots were 3's.
He's 29 but Pau Gasol is 36 and he was still pretty effective last year. If Brook followed Pau's career trajectory he'd be
a good deal at about 18 mil/year - and a declining scale from there. Especially if his 3pt shot improved like Gasol's has late in his career (.538 last year!) The one bad thing is we'd lose a lot of rebounding compared to any of our 3 current centers - last year he was at half their rates.

My perception may be off, but I think of Lopez as a very poor defender. With him and Booker, we'd need the rest of the team to be filled with excellent defenders.

I look for Fox to have a bright future if the Suns should draft later. The same with Jackson.

We can always talk about what the Celtics need or the fackers. Jaylon Brown looked terrible and I wanted the Suns to draft his sorry @#!!!

And I'm still thinking Jaylen Brown was a good pick at #3.

I like the idea of talking about FAs, but I think it's a summer too early to start thinking of making a splashy trade or signing. I think we draft a difference maker and some lottery tickets in the 2nd round and then start next year and see what we really have. Mid year maybe trade for disgruntled star or sign the big splash FA in summer of 2018.

I don't see Brook as a big, splashy trade now. Two or three years ago, yes. Besides, we are in need of a center for next year. Len is almost certainly gone and while I really like Alan and want to keep him, I don't see him as a starter. Tyson is five years older than Brook. Bender is a complete question mark at C. I don't imagine we'll be tanking next year - but if we are likely to do it then we don't want to try for Brook. If no tank, then it would be good for our youngsters to have some success - maybe, even a leap back to mediocrity and fighting for a playoff spot. I think Brook puts us there.

Well I've become slightly concerned that a Ball Booker backcourt is defensively awful but as long as we score more than the other side...

Agreed entirely otherwise.

I think this is a great question. I really do not know much about Brook but he has been a consistent 20 point scorer since he came into the league. He appears to be a poor rebounder and I do not think he is any good on defense.

However a big three of Lopez, Booker and Bledsoe (or PG we pick in the draft) could be pretty good especially if we could get him without giving up any of our draft picks or youngsters.

I really think we will need to upgrade the center position going forward and Len is not the answer, IMO. Could Lopez be a 4 or 5 year fix?

Len > Brook Lopez.

Everythign that is relevant Len does better, younger, cheaper, better rebounder, better defender.

The only thing Brook Lopez does better than Len is scoring.

This is right up there with Magic Johnson not being a point guard.

I saw the title and thought you were complaining about too many playoff games on at the same time.

But I agree it's just like the football board and the endless draft stuff there.

I don't like Brook bc:

Age doesn't match our time horizon

Not a rebounder/defender

Really want a YOUNG deandre Jordan with this crew

This is right up there with Magic Johnson not being a point guard.

Please tell us about how good Domantas Sabonis is again.

The fact that you still can't do anything else but taking a quote out of context and paraphrasing it to dilute its meaning shows it all about you.

"Positions in basketball were created for the novice to follow the game" Jalen Rose.

You are a novice. Just because Magic Johnson ran the offense does not make him a starter at the PG position. There is a reason why the phrase "point forward" was coined for Magic. The truth is that by basketball positions Magic started as a forward for the vast majority of his career. He rarely ever guarded players labeled as "PGs" and he was not defended by players labeled as "PGs" and for the most part started alongsige two guards one of which was usually labeled a "PG".

Lebron James is also running the offense in Cleveland, maybe that makes it easier for you to understand since I am pretty sure you know that Lebron James is categorized as a forward despite running the show.

I know this is challenging for you to grasp.

I think it's because there's so many Suns fans and you have a high pick.

I agree though it's obvious none of us change our opinions.
