I am really leary of big college WRs with ??? speed. I don't know how fast Neal is, but I don't think he is better than 4.6
He reminds me of Larry Legend. I’m dead serious. Throw it up & Harry is catching it. He’s faster than you think, I was standing on the sidelines last year at the Sun Bowl & Texas Tech game & the kid can run, is tough & he’s built well. Good kid as well.

I went to HS with Todd Graham & he told me that day he’s a star in the NFL.

I’m honestly more interested in another ASU player

Yeah I hate big wide receivers that run 4.6 40s at the combine . I remember awhile back a big kid from Pitt really good hands slow as hell though. All this hype and only ran a 4.63 at the combine glad we didn't draft him.... :)

Two best Cardinal receivers I've seen in my lifetime Larry Fitzgerald 4.63 and Anquan Boldin 4.71 at the combine.

Harry is big strong has great hands runs great routes and can go up and get it. He's considered the best WR in the country. He's very much the real deal. His 40 is clocked at 4.52
There are few Larry Fitzgeralds so putting him as the comp is a bit much. However, there are far more Mike Williams (USC) type WRs who go high and fail than Dez Bryant (without the attitude) type players.

Devin Funchess and Kelvin Benjamin can stick around in the league, but I'm not interested in those types of guys in the first or second round. Again, it goes to the concept of identifying how players are successful vs how they fail when projecting from college to the NFL. If Neal succeeds by catching contested balls and breaking tackles, that is MUCH easier to do consistently in college than in the NFL. That skill set also doesn't age well for players.

I get what you mean but if you think the kid is like Boldin then speed is not that big of a deal. Anquan fell in the draft because of his 40 time and was amazing until the injuries caught up with him. Some guys are just great players, I have not seen this kid play so I have no idea if he is or not
Boldin went in round 2. I am much more interested in Neal in round 2 than round 1.

Fitz ran a 4.48 at the combine and a 4.5 at his pro day.

There are conflicting reports of Fitz’ 40-time at the combine or if he even worked out at all. Nothing is confirmed.

Type in Larry Fitzgerald 40 time in Google and you'll get all 4.6. Doesn't really matter. Jerry Rice the greatest of all time ran a notoriously slow 40.

You can't use statistical outliers to justify taking a guy.

Just because Drew Brees is successful as a 2nd round pick doesn't mean you should 5'11 guys in the first round.

Just because Tom Brady got benched his senior year doesn't mean you draft college QBs who get benched in round 1.

Just because Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald leveraged slower than prototypical 40 times into Hall of Fame careers, doesn't mean N'Keal will have their work ethic and drive. That is silly.

I don't know how fast he is, but I'm not taking 4.6 WRs in round 1 no matter how much they smash future insurance salesmen on a college football field.

Every spectacular play I have seen him make, he has had players draped all over him. I have seen enough to question the QB who is throwing him the ball or his ability to separate from college athletes. Dez Bryant was a BEAST in college and has been a meh pro. Laquon Treadwell was a BEAST in college and has had a disappointing career. I don't know what N'Keal Harry is at this point, but I know what I have seen doesn't consistently translate into success at the NFL level.

Dez Bryant has been MORE than a "meh" pro. He is the Cowboys all time leading receiver. I think you are exaggerating a bit with this comment.

I do think you're opinion that drafting receivers high is not a great method to build a championship team is a sound philosophy. Look at all the Super Bowl teams over the past 20 years and you see few teams that succeeded by using draft capital on WRs. I think receiver is a position you throw draft capital in rounds 2-4 at some of them will stick. Use 1st rounders on OT, CB, QB, DE/OLB. Don't draft G, RB (unless a generational talent), TE, C, or SS in the 1st round. I'm iffy on using 1sts on ILBs or DTs as well.

Dez has played in the NFL 8 years. He has topped 1,000 yards receiving 3 times. He has averaged 66 yards per game over his career.

For a first round pick, that is meh to me. Not a bust by any means. But an underachieving career.

My expectations for 25th overall is decent player. Dez exceeded that.

For reference, looking at the macro, Calvin Pace was a solid late teens first round pick. Once he was used in the right position (OLB) he was a good NFL player. But considering the team passed on Suggs for him and that most of his better years were for the Jets, he was a bad 1st round pick.

To be fair, he was a TD machine before he suffered an ankle injury which slowed & then halted his career. Injuries had to deal with his decline more than natural ability.

Jerry Rice's stats are big for the same reason Bret Favre's stats are big. Longevity. They both played 20 years. That kind of durability is a sign of greatness in its own way, but the greatest receiver of all time is Larry Darnell Fitzgerald jr. He can do it too. He could play another five or six years and smash all records into oblivion, but only if he feels like it.

You must be young. Fitz is nowhere near as good as Jerry Rice (or Randy Moss). Jerry was a 10-time all pro. He lead the NFL in receiving yards 10 times.

You have it backward. Fitz is going to look great because of his longevity, even if he wasn't the best receiver in the NFL more than one year during his career. f

I will say this, the Super Bowl run (playoff games) performance by Fitz was the best I have ever seen by a receiver. With a washed up QB to boot. I watched Rice his entire career. I think Randy Moss scared me more than any WR. No where near, I say donkey crap...

Your really shorting this kid. You just don't like him is what im getting from this.

He was a 5 star recruit in high school 3 years later he's the best WR in the country. You can watch him return punts or make ridiculously athletic field reversing runs and at the same time watch him truck guys. Anyone with any kind of unbiased sense can tell he's not Devon Funches or Mike Williams come on now.

He has the size but what separates him is the insane athletism that you just ignore. He's 6'4 220 and returns punts.

The fact you value him at a 2nd round pick lets me know all I need to know.

Listen im not for us drafting a WR in round 1. We need offensive line and defensive front 7 help the most
