I started following Rice when he was a junior at Mississippi Valley State, and saw every single game he played for the 49ers. I've also followed Larry's entire career and the number of home games I've missed in that time can be counted on one hand.

Larry is one of the all-time greats at WR, no doubt.. but Jerry is the GOAT. Period/exclamation point.

Would Larry's career have been just as great if he didn't have (mostly) a bunch of ham & eggers throwing to him, while Montana had back-to-back HOF QB's? We'll never know.

Didn’t the 49ers win two SB’s before Rice got here? Imagine getting drafted by a dynasty with offensive savant in Bill Walsh and all time great QB. Then we he’s nearing the end you get Steve Young in his prime. It’s comparable to Magic getting drafted to the Lakers with Kareem and Wilkes.

Your really shorting this kid. You just don't like him is what im getting from this.

He was a 5 star recruit in high school 3 years later he's the best WR in the country. You can watch him return punts or make ridiculously athletic field reversing runs and at the same time watch him truck guys. Anyone with any kind of unbiased sense can tell he's not Devon Funches or Mike Williams come on now.

He has the size but what separates him is the insane athletism that you just ignore. He's 6'4 220 and returns punts.

The fact you value him at a 2nd round pick lets me know all I need to know.

Listen im not for us drafting a WR in round 1. We need offensive line and defensive front 7 help the most
I may be shorting him, but just because I have questions about a player doesn't mean I dislike him. It is not about like or dislike. Even on the clip that was posted, the player he chased down just broke a tackle. Where I consistently see this kid win is being bigger, and stronger than college DBs (who can be very spotty). He may be a 4.4 player, but I will have to see it to check off the box because I don't see separation in the games to this point.

one thing I have noticed with the redbirds is that lack of separation. even when we had JB and JJ.... it just never seamed like they got away from the DB unless the dude tripped... you watch a team like the bengals and on nearly every play there were WR's who were a yard or two away from their coverage..... very hard to get YAC when the DB is right on top of you when a catch is made... I'm not entirely sure if that is due to route skills or quick twitch... but I am guessing a bit of both.
YAC is one of the most exciting parts of football... but redbird WR's usually just make a catch and go down

I think the best WR is the kid from Ole Miss, AJ Brown. The best player is Dwayne Haskins and the likely #1 pick.

Eh, I don’t think AJ is even the best WR on his own team.

Same could(should) be said for Haskins.

maybe they need to start a summer league...run it from may first through mid july.... required for every player with less then 32 regular season games under their belt.

then they can start training camp august first with all the vets...train for a month, start the season in september

CBS just did their first mock of 2019...lol ... the possibilities of this pick are high but man it will piss people off

2. Arizona Cardinals
Jonah Williams, LT, Alabama. In 2015, the Cardinals spent a first-round pick on D.J. Humphries out of Florida. While the left tackle has played respectably after returning from injury, he's not the franchise guy. Williams can be that for the Josh Rosen era in Arizona.

Guys I’m checking in on Sat:

OT Trey Adams - In case Humphries doesn’t turn into a $9.5M LT this year.

OT Kaleb McGary - Adams’ bookend and potential RTOF for ARZ.

CB Greedy Williams - #1 draft eligible CB in country, Murphy of UW & Jones of USC won’t be eligible until next year.

N’Keal Harry & AJ Brown - Obvious reasons. Wouldn’t it be wild to get Harry next year & Byron Murphy the year after? ARZ HS reunion.

LB Josh Allen - Kid is a beast at Kentucky.

Ed Oliver & Nick Bosa - In case we get top pick.

Murphy is a redshirt sophomore. He’s eligible.

God no!! Those Alabama offensive lineman have not been great in the NFL.

Chance Warmack, Cyrus, DJ Fluker, barret Jones. None of those guys have lived up to the hype.

If we get a top 2 pick it better be Oliver or Bosa

That’s weird that he isn’t on any mocks right now. I thought he was a true freshman last year but got hurt after a couple of games thus got redshirted making him a redshirt sophomore?

Nah. He redshirted as soon as he stepped on UW’s campus. I’ve seen him on a few mocks, but his status will continue to grow big time if he played like he did last year when he was healthy.

Ryan Kelly has been good.

Tbh I hope we take a Bama player(not Jonah or a OL period over Bosa/Oliver) just to see your reaction.

You’re nuts. I’ll bet Haskins is a top 10 pick.

You really think Tate martell is better?
It’s nit even the same area code. That’s like saying Brett Hundley is better than Aaron Rogers.

Dude.

C’mon.

I said “team”, not offense.

What other Ohio State player is getting more hype than Haskins?

I read it as Brown is not the best Wr on his team and Haskins not the best Qb on his.

Didn’t know you meant all the players.

But Haskins is still the best player on OSU.

Disregard my post about Jack Jones, dude got thrown out of USC for a burglary charge.

Edit - Damn, Trey Adams is out for year after having season ending back surgery. After tearing ACL last year his NFL future looks uncertain.

Dez Bryant has been MORE than a "meh" pro. He is the Cowboys all time leading receiver. I think you are exaggerating a bit with this comment.
Whoa... in TD's, yes, which is cool, but not even close in receptions (about 1/3 as many as Witten, 2/3 as many as Irvin) or in yards (#5 on their list, 5000 yards behind Witten, and 4500 behind Irvin!)
