He's such a turnover machine & sucks!!! When he has to make a touch throw, he simply can't do it.

He will do good against mediocre teams but not against elite ones.

Call me less than a human being, but for some reason it makes me happy to see him fail. Fortunately, it doesn't make me sad or mad or anything to see him succeed. Best of both worlds.

I like Cam.

Was one of the many who hated him coming out of college, but he shut me up with his play last year. Give respect where its due. This year, I dont know whats going on. I think its just simply the D's of the league know what to expect now.

Theres really no reason to hate him. Not a division rival. Never been in trouble with the law since hes been in the league. Hes talks alot, but not really ever trash talk towards opponents. Hes cocky, but as long as he backs it up, then hes got a right to be.

I just dont see the reason to hate.

Save it for Vick, or Harrison, or Cutler, or the 49ers, or 49ers fans, or Finnegan.

I like Cam also. He really impressed me last year.

Tonight was one bad game. He was pretty good the first two weeks.

And last week he was great, so he had a bad game against the Giants.. geez..

No kidding! His first two games Newton completed almost 70% of his passes and had a yards per attempt number over 10!

If we had a QB who could put up those type numbers we'd be 2-0 right now. :p

I'm not going to bash him too much for the Thursday game loss. It's a young coaching staff there, who probably needed more time to get Cam and the rest of their team ready on a short week.

Agree completely that we'll probably see a sophmore slump from Cam, but his first two games looked pretty good. I expect he'll be all over the place from a performance standpoint this year.

I think his emotions got the best of him last night, as he tried to do "too much" to get his team back into the game...

My one complaint, and it's not limited to just Cam, but to a LOT of players in the league... don't pull out the "I'm Superman TD dance" when you're still trailing by more than 2 scores. It makes you look like an idiot.

Go Cards!!!

Dude, did you lose a bet on the Panthers?

Another example of a young physically talented QB who hit a speed bump. I wouldn't write him off just yet, but he apparently has shown the nation that he might yet not be quite ready for HOF status. And let's not forget that he was facing a pretty good Giants defense

Side point - The emergence of Andre Brown is reminiscent of what Coughlin has done before when his back was to the wall - he'd "go smashmouth" if he thought he had a physical edge. (He did it to us once a few years back when you could see Brandon Jacobs' cleat-marks all over the fronts of our unis). Makes tactical sense - if you can physically dominate your opponent with physical stuff, you don't have to worry about X's, O's or injuries to your skill players. You just pound the hell out of the other team.

What people should be taking away from these Thursday night games is that on a short week, the overall talent on the roster wins.

Cam Newton couldn't overcome an awful defense and a middling offensive line. New York has a veteran team that's been together and is just better. Same with Green Bay over Chicago.

When we play our Thursday night game, we should keep in mind that Horton is going to have half has much time to draw up schemes, and so will Whis and Miller. We'll find out how talented this team really is in that situation, and how much we benefit from coaching.

The dude had a bad game. That can't happen to a professional quarterback!

He's done! See ya! :sarcasm:

He has a lot more good games than bad. He'll be fine (and I'm one who thought before last year's draft that thought the Cam we saw last night would be the norm--it's not. I was wrong).

I imagine he will have a couple of these types of games this year. The league is adjusting to his style of play and how the Panthers like to use him. How he adjusts his game to counter this will determine his long term success in the NFL. Vince Young couldn't do it, and he failed. With Cam, only time will tell.

On a personal note. Hey number 1, when you are down three scores in the second half, how about you keep from showing the "S" until you are in a spot where your team isn't getting dominated. "Superman" apparently can't overcome Giants despite his 3rd quarter appearence.

It wasn't all about his production last night that sent me into a tizzy, it was also how he acted: the superman move as they are get smoked, the towel over his head on the sidelines, the way he carried himself & acted as the score became a blowout. This is the team leader, the QB and guy your franchise wants to be associated with when thought of. After the game, same crap, same BS, that IMO says Cam is all about Cam! Just my 2 cents. IMO he's still will never be anything better than average at QB, because of his INT numbers.

Well, Steve Smith was scolding him for his behavior so you have something there bucky.

He's young, not a big deal at this point IMO.

So the kid hates to lose, big deal!! Cam has been terrific through 19 professional games. Give him a break.

what a crock!.... Cam Newton is a better QB than any we currently have on the roster. Sophomore slumps are common....plus, he ran a simplified offense last season due to the lockout...very likely the staff has been increasing his playbook this season which will also cause some bad games....he may never be a hall of famer...but right now....I would trade BOTH of our top 2 QB's for Newton.
