Everything I have read says he is a Mike Alstott type. Better runner than blocker. I predict he ends up like Duckett, not Strong. I heard he was blown up REGULARLY during the senior bowl

i wouldn't be shocked to see him get injured against NFL players. that said. GET INJURED BEFORE THE CARDS GAME OWEN!

I think the smashed facemasks get folks all hot and bothered, overly so. I don't think he lasts 3 years in the league. Strong as an bull, but just not that athletic.

I think we will rue the day that this guy isn't on our team. Somehow, somewhere, he will hurt us in a big divisional game. Maybe on Special teams. Who knows. Total Heart, blood, and guts guy. Like Tillman. Like Alstott.

Just the type of guy Whis and Grimm (And I) love to have.

Maybe just like Tillman. I liked PT but many Cards fans were gnashing their teeth as Pat got beat deep or didn't have the speed to make the play. I'm not saying he wasn't a contributer but we often forget how often we were upset with his play.

He seemed to thrive best when they came up with that hybrid linebacker spot for him. I think even that would have caught up with him as teams would have started running at him more and more.

The NFL guys thought that Schmitt might fancy himself more of a running back than fullback but they thought that was fool's gold too because they don't think he has the speed or quickness to be handling the ball.

FBs are important but come on it's like spending a draft pick on a punter. Some many good ones are available very late in the draft and even after the draft. Why use an early pick on one.

BUMP.

It was an interesting discussion and he may end up being a very good player.

I did notice watching the replay of the Seahawks game that he was the one that failed to block Adrian Wilson on the play that almost got Hasselbeck killed.

I don't know if he just missed AW, or didn't know he was supposed to chip him, or if he was concentrating on getting out to the flat, but he won't be back there much if he wiffs on blitzers like that.

I would think that if we had a good fullback on our rostor we would find ways to use him. Especially, if he was a good blocker and had good hands, we could use him like a TE which we seem to have NOT. P.S. You don't always have to draft them you know, you can obtain them via free-agency.

he's actually been pretty solid - he's a rookie going through the transition, but has made some good blocks, some nice catches and a couple good runs

weaver has definitely emerged this year though, so his options have been limited to mainly learning

he for sure screwed up on the AW blitz - terrible recognition of the situation

His only claim to fame as a player is headbutting a giant gash into his forehead during pregame introductions because he didn't have his helmet on. I sure didn't notice him in the four games he played against us.

Has already cleared waivers and nobody has picked him up yet. I certainly don't think that is a guarantee.

He was just cut yesterday. Dont think we know if he clear waivers yet for another few hours (24 hours since his cut).
