What do you think? Is there time to fix it before the Cardinals are out of the playoff race?

Eh. Matters on what the expectations were from the individual.

At the beginning of the year many were talking 8-8 and 7-9.

Success for me would be a non-double digit loses season, and some improvement by this team to build on.

The team would have to go 6-5 for the rest of the year.....don't see it happening.

Well 1 - 4 is certainly not the start we would have wanted especially with the teams we have to play after the bye week.

But we still have to play the Rams and 49ers twice so these are all must win games. 1 loss to the 9ers and that will be it for the season in terms of playoffs.

Having said that, if we show improvement, blooding new players, getting the deadwood to sit on the bench ( yes Joey Porter , and sorry to say it but i mean Clark Haggans also) and show some changes and improvements then I will go into next season with the usual optimism when we are 0-0.

But Whis never comes out firing after the bye week. We always seem to come out flat.

As I posted in another thread, barring some miracle, the Cards are toast for this season because the secondary is just decimated. Combine that with a weak pass rush and a pass happy NFL, unless Kolb, Wells, and Fitz can get us 35 points a game, we're looking at a possible 3-13. However I expect my boys won't let me down and they'll finish 5-11.

I think 5 wins is a best case scenario. I think they will beat Seattle, St. Louis and Cleveland at home. They may surprise and win another game.

Also hard to believe that we only have only one offensive lineman playing the same position he did at the end of 2009.

And the two left feet - 10 thumbs rule is back in effect:

Bridges was awful Sunday. Maybe he can only play well at LT.

Bartel did worse than nothing.

I predicted this team would finish this year at 3-13 and be the worst team in the NFL back in June. I have seen nothing so far to move me from either of those predictions.

Not me. After the offseason acquisitions I thought we were probably an 8 or 9 win team. Injuries to Toler, Williams and Wilson had me downgrading us by a win or two. Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be worse than a 6 win team. I still felt that way until the first quarter of the Minnesota game. Now, I have no idea how low these guys can sink. It's the most (unexplainable) gutless performance I've seen from the Cards during the Whiz era. I'd rather watch the Patriots put a 47 - 7 beatdown on us again than to re-watch that first quarter.

Not this year. Niners are for real---and they will put an absolute beating on AZ.

Great place to live! Does the OAK in oaken mean Oakland? I have been an A's fan since they days of Campy Campaneris, Sal Bando, Joe Rudi, Catfish Hunter, Johnny Blue Moon Odom, Vida Blue, Dick Green, Rickey Henderson and of course #9---Reggie Jackson. Are you an A's fan Oaken1?

I expected 5-6 wins this year, not a lot different from last year, but I expect close games. I still think John Skelton is the best QB we have.

I used to be an A's fan too until Charlie O stole away the greatest college baseball coach in the history of the world (maybe even the universe). ASU baseball has never been the same. OTOH, I always got a kick out of Mr Finley's antics. He made George S look like a sane boss (just ask Mike Andrews).

living in the past. The Niners are 4-1 and one 4th quarter collapse away from being 5-0 with several ass-kickings notched on their belt.

Haven't you gotten the memo? The 49ers are a paper tiger who hasn't played anyone good yet and whose quarterback isn't asked to do anything. And don't worry that they're getting better every week. Alex Smith is without question an inferior quarterback to Kevin Kolb.

You could be right about that, but we'll likely never know, considering Bartel has already passed him on Whis' wacky depth chart.

Max Hall last year. Bartel this year. I get the feeling Whis isn't a huge Skelton fan. I'm not really, either, but I also didn't draft him. Our player development is sorely lacking.

living in the past provides a degree of hope however misguided....the present nor future provide that ray of hope.

Do you realize that we are a punt return away from being O'fer?

So doesn't that mean that Skelton is the best qb with the way that Whiz evaluates qb talent?
