Webb gets out of the bases loaded jam by striking out the side. Wow!

Poor Webb. Once again he does not get the run support. Diamondbacks are down 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th. They need some runs!

man, mondesi's hitting well...

i really don't like villareal. he's proven incompetent in hold situations. why was he even there? that was stupid of brenly. he should've just used valverde. what a dumb move.

our hitting flat-out STINKS. even if we make the playoffs, we've got no chance. no chance at all. there must be a way to turn this around. sack murphy!

Tough loss, especially with the Phillies losing big to the Giants. Too bad for Webb, he does not deserve the loss. Let's get the next two games to take the series.

we have the best era in the majors since the break. unfortunately, looking at our won-loss record, that means our hitting stinks that badly. with the trading deadline already over, and nobody worth talking about on the radar from the minors, i suppose there's no reason to expect any improvement on our offense. i just don't understand it. we have good players but our offense stinks. hell, the tigers have a better offense than us.

Okay, 1-0 Diamondbacks after 3 thanks to Cintron's leadoff triple.

1-1 after the 5th. It could of been worse but Gonzo threw the runner out at home.

1-1 going into the bottom of the 9th. Wouldn't it be nice to win it now?

MVP goes to Finley. Props goes to Dessens, Randolph and Cintron.

WTF, Mondesi?? Sticking the glove out like that, hoping for the ball to drop in is ridiculous!! Fundamentals, boys....fundamentals!!!

Now the Mets get the run in from second base....!@#$%

You can tell he was going to have trouble from the moment the ball was hit. He kept back pedalling and never felt comfortable. Leiter is going to be tough to beat today.

First, Brenly just pissed me off. Why have a hit and run on a 3-1 count?

Second, the Marlins lost and the Phillies are losing 5-0 in the third.

Wow, Mondesi nails the catcher and pops the ball out. 1-1 game now.

Mondesi makes up for his defensive lapse with a nice dislodging of the ball from the catcher's mitt!!

Randy allows another run in the top of the third, it's now 2-1. It could of been worse but Kata was in the right place to catch that line drive. Randy does not look like the Randy we know. I wonder if his knee is bothering him?

Kata with a one-out triple. Counsell needs to get him in.

Counsell gets the job done with a sacrifice fly. Kata is not as fast as I thought he was because that was a closer play than it should of been.

IMHO, RJ normally uses a lot of leg drive in his delivery, but since the surgery, his lower body looks really stiff, depending on upper body strength for power. Obviously he is looking out for his knee, but I wonder if he came back too early? He hasn't pitched awfully, but he appears a lot more vulnerable than before.

Nice AB by Counsell - game tied at 2-2.
