Season thread. The Diamondbacks start their run to the playoffs tonight

Kata gets a hit and Counsell drives him in. I did not think Kata was going to be safe but a bad throw and hustle on Kata's part tied the game. Now Gonzo just got a triple and the Diamondbacks are up 4-3. Yes!

Junior with an rbi double and it is now 5-3 in the bottom of the 6th.

Wiggington with a home run and it is now 5-4 top of the 8th. The Phillies lost and now the Diamondbacks are 2.5 behind for the wild card.

Mondesi and Spivey get their third hit each for the game and then Cintron gets them both in with a pinch-hit triple.

Cintron ES LARGO! Did what they had to do at home - nice - with the Marlins and Phillies duking it out against each other three more times this season - if we can just play the way we have at home and play mediocre baseball on the road - the wildcard is ours. People jump off this bandwagon way to damn fast - it's way too long of a baseball season -way too long. Bring it home Mantei!

There is still like 49 games left, a lot of baseball. If the Diamondbacks can take series after series they have a great shot. After this weeks road trip I believe the Diamondbacks have 13 straight home games. Mantei is one out away.

Diamondbacks win 7-3! 2 games behind the wild card. MVP goes to Kata, Counsell and Spivey. Props go to Mondesi, Randy, Cintron and Mantei(struck out the side in the 9th).

Thankfully, the Reds didn't do anything on offense either. After 1 inning still tied 0-0.

Nice job by Schilling getting out of the 1st inning without allowing a run....it sure would have been nice to get Kata in from third with ZERO outs!!

Just got home and saw Kata on third with no outs and did not score, arghh.
Finley just hit a home run, YES!!!

Unbelievable pitching by Schilling! Gets out of a two men in scoring position with 1 out jam by striking the next 2 batters out!! D-backs still lead 1-0!

I think Cintron should be hitting in the second spot. Counsell is not getting the job done with runners in scoring position like he did last year. Great job Curt.
