D-Backs lose to the Mets. This team needs something to jumpstart them.

This was pathetic. The Dbacks win the 1st 2 games of this series and only end up with a split. The best they can do on this homestand is be .500.

They did in this series exactly what Gonzo did in the game ... they dropped the ball.

Alright a new series starts with the Expos and Fossum makes his Dback debut. He was ultra-impressive in his first inning of work ... I just hope that this will get them going (Please oh Please).

Hillenbrand with a sac fly and Danny Bautista with an RBI single and the Dbacks are now up 2-0! Maybe their pathetic play last night might have finally woke this team up or at least I hope it did

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Figures ... Dbacks get 2 run lead and then shortly give up the 2 run lead. Ugh!

It's only 3-2. Fossum pitched good for his first start.

Fossum now out, not a bad debut by any means. However the Dbacks offense is pathetic right now the last 8 outs came at a total of about 30 pitches.

Can the hitters have any patience?

The Diamondbacks have hit rock bottom. Losing to the lowly Expos. Brenly's stategic move in the 9th backfires. I wonder how long he can keep his job? This team lacks the fundamentals, offensively and defensively.

I can't call it a particularly good outing by Fossum - he fell behind in the count to the majority of batters, he walked almost everyone. And he's slow. Heckuva trade for Schilling, don't you think?

But our non-offense, our amazing lack of plate discipline, doomed us. Defense didn't look too bad - not crisp, but at least not butterfingers. Scratching for positives here...

By the sixth inning, this game felt like the second game of a doubleheader.

Was it a good outing under normal circumstances? No but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt due to 2 reasons

1) This was he 1st outing at the big league level after a prolonged trip to the DL

2) This was his first start with a new team so I'm sure he was nervous

So it was ok for now. However, the majority of the rest of his starts (Every pitcher or player for that matter has an off day) have to be better than this one.

Damn, these games are painful. I mean - the EXPOS!!! Fer crying out loud.

I sit here wondering simply if losing curt has hurt this team emotionally more than anything. He was the heart and the soul of this club, and though the team is potentially good enough without him, the intagables are really killing us this year....

I don't think its us missing Schilling ... its us missing Sexson. Before Sexson went down with an injury this team kept winning series and the offense was on a roll when Sexson caught fire. However ever since Sexson hurt his shoulder this team has a lineup no one fears and the team has completely lost their confidence.

Tell you what Curt brought - every fifth day he brought a fired-up, over the top energy that NO ONE else on this club comes close to having. That was why he was The Avenger.

I agree losing Sexson was a major blow, but a bunch of impatiently hacking juvies hurts us too - will ANY of these kids besides Tracy take a walk or really work the count in our lifetime? (Overbay walked in a run today, getting Russ Ortiz yanked in the second inning!)

This is an un-enjoyable team, right now. If BB wants to convince everyone "it's a grind," he's sure convinced me.

Our 4 minor league teams scored 38 runs tonight, btw. :p

At least BB is seeing the same games we are. Sometimes I wonder if the management has any insight, for all the 'spin' they throw at us, starting with "best team ever" garbage coming out of ST. We've been saying this emperor has no clothes for awhile.

Randy Johnson's verbal tirade about the Diamondbacks' poor play a few days back is suddenly ancient history. Manager Bob Brenly took the team's frustration level to a new high.

"We suck," Brenly told reporters Saturday night after the Diamondbacks' fourth straight loss, a 5-0 setback to the Montreal Expos, who have the worst record in the National League.

"That's what it is. I mean, when we need to pitch well, we don't pitch well. When we need to hit well, we don't hit well. When we need to catch the ball, we don't catch the ball. We are equal-opportunity (expletive). That's the only way you can put it. We find ways to lose games, and I'm real (expletive) tired of it."

Brenly abruptly left the Bank One Ballpark interview room after the outburst.

I wonder what BB will have to say after today's spendid outing...

Bases loaded and no outs in the 6th and they can't get one friggin' run. Finley pops up and Baerga hits into a double play. What sucks is it looks like the Dodgers, Padres and Giants have lost for a third straight day.

Major changes need to take place. You can't blame everything on Brenly but when things hit rock bottom the manager is the one who gets the blame. Will Brenly be on the flight to Atlanta?

What is frustating is the season is not even close to being over but the way team is playing is it's like they have given up. There are still 4 and a half months of baseball and being 8.5 games out of first is not impossible. The question is, have some of the players quit on Brenly?

Well, they've certainly quit on the fans, and they've quit on themselves, so one must assume they've quit on BB as well.

Totally unwatchable. Hardly qualifies as baseball.

Just got home. They were saying on the radio that Brenly said Hairston will be playing so they expect Kata will be sitting soon. Kata is in a horrible slump and just maybe Hairston can spark this team if Kata can't get going.

Let's get Randy some insurance runs!!!
