SECTION 11

1: Anderson, John
Strength: Leg strength
Weakness: Approach
Assessment: John Anderson has one of the strongest legs in the draft class and has the longest field goal in Washington history (56 yards). Not many kickers will be drafted but Anderson has a chance based on his leg strength alone. Very good on kickoffs. Approach to the football is a little slow, will need to speed that up in the NFL.
2: Barnard, Brooks
Strength: Punting inside the 20
Weakness: Hang time
Assessment: Brooks Barnard has been the #1 punter on my board for most of the season. Barnard has a very strong leg and excels at pinning opponents inside the 20-yard line. Is inconsistent with his hang time, will need to get more air under the ball at the pro level. Should be drafted in the 5th or 6th round.
3: Duval, Damon
Many feel that his leg has hit the wall... after doing most of the kicking duties at school... good leg up to 40-45 yards... normally consistent on his kickoffs... had a good day statistically on his punts... but seems to have lost leg strength when comparing him to 1-2 years ago...
4: Johnson, Eddie
Far and away the best punter, several special teams coaches acknowledged, was Idaho State standout Eddie Johnson.
5: Marler, Seth
Strength: Approach
Weakness: Accuracy
Assessment: Seth Marler seems to have the most ability of any of the kickers available. There are questions about range and accuracy but he is very smooth and technically sound. Marler struggled his senior year and had a few field goals blocked. Has a very quick approach and should be drafted in the 5th – 7th round.
6: Ruffin, Johnathan
Strength: Accuracy
Weakness: Kickoffs
Assessment: Jonathan Ruffin is a former Lou Groza award winner that should hear his name called on draft day. Does not have a booming leg that will consistently handle the 50 yard field goals but he is very accurate from within 40 yards. May not be responsible for kickoff duties at the NFL level.
7: Sievers, Todd
Only kicker in his group to reach the endzone on his kickoffs... versatile, as he can kick, kickoff and punt...
I donated the sixth round comp pick to the Coyotes.
