It's a brand. I agree with you though, it's extremely freaky to look at. :D

Here's a question for those in the know. Which OT prospects grade out in the 3rd round or lower do you think can actually play LT, and play it early?

No one as long as Russ Grimm is the Offensive line coach. There isn't a guy on the planet who can succeed on our offensive line the way its coached now.

if the Cardinals are looking to a rookie picked in the third round to come in and play at LT, they are in big trouble

not saying it never happens, but it doesnt happen very often

Mike Adams LT OSU - Mid 1st - Top of the 2nd.

Zerbie Sanders LT FSU - Mid 2nd - 3rd.

Andrew Datko LT/RT FSU - 3 rounder

Matt McCant LT UAB 3rd Rounder

Brandon Mosley LT Auburn 3 Rounder

Nate Potter LT Boise St. 3 Rounder

Sanders depending on his workouts could land in the late 1st to early 2nd.

Datko his teammate at FSU was considered the more talented at the beginning of the year, until he blew out his shoulder. Some durability concerns over the long haul there, but he's talented.

It will be worth taking a look at some of these guys at the combine and at the Senior Bowl this week.

A nice sleeper I spotted is - Joe Long - LT Wayne St. - Brother of Jake of the Dolphins. Probably a 6th rounder. He's about 6' 6" - 320 ish.

You're right in principle, but (a) we already are in trouble and (b) "you gotta start somewhere."

If we keep trying to patch the leak in the ship with short-term fixes in the form of capable linemen with a couple of years left in the tank, we will continue to chase our tails forever.

We need to bring in quality youngsters and develop them into capable starters - if it takes a few years, it's simply the cost of doing business; plus you never know - we might get lucky. (Guys like Logan Mankins became quality starters in fewer than 3 years. Mangold & Brick F started for the Jets from the gitgo).

Drew Boylhart at the Huddle Report gave Nate Potter a 1st round grade and he's listed on many boards close to where we pick in the third.

OT is a big question mark as to how it will play out. Options in the 3rd round probably play out as Andrew Datko FSU, Matt McCants UAB, James Brown Troy?, and Brandon Mosely. 4th and 5th rounders look to be Nate Potter boise St, Levy Adcock OK St., and Mark Zusevics Iowa. I also like Joe Long in the 6th or 7th round and think a pairing of him and one of the mid rounders would be a good start at upgrading our offensive line. Is it perfect, no? Not at all.

Personally I could live with a draft like

1-Melvin Ingram South Carolina / Courtney Upshaw Alabama / Nick Perry USC - OLB
3-Amini Silatolu Midwestern St - OG (OG will probably be best value when we pick in the 3rd which is why I have it here)
4-Levy Adcock Ok St. - OT
5-?
6-?
6-Joe Long Wayne St.(He might be available in the 7th as well) - OT
7-?

I would luv 1, 4 & 6.

But I also would also be all over players like these in Rd 3:
1) Doug Martin, RB- (who I think is an NFL star & highly underrated) given the uncertainty of the health of Wells & Williams (may never be the same). Tough, speedy & can tote the rock much like Ray Rice despite his size.

2) Mycal Kendrinks, LB-Can player either inside or outside, nasty & speedy

3) Ryan Broyles, WR-though he tore an ACL last year at OU this guy is tough, fast & reliable. Worth a gamble in Rd 3 to pay off in 2013? No doubt!

4) Chris Givens, WR-burner who has big frame & will only get better IMO in the NFL. Remember his name because he will be a great player

I would be happy with Decastro in the 1st and Nate Potter in the 3rd.

And Boise State is a pass-happy offense. An ELITE pass-happy offense. Nice.

I would be happy with Decastro in the 1st and Nate Potter in the 3rd.

I could definitely be down with this. My other preference in the first would be an OLBer. We definitely need to go BPA only slightly tinged with need in the first, though.

Guys who looked good:

1) Mike Adams, OT-Played well but guess what # he wears & what conference he's from? Uh oh

2) Kirk Cousins, QB-underrated passer & showed zip & touch

3) Vinny Curry, DL-showed bullrush & speed. Maybe a 3-4 OLB in the NFL?

4) Kellen Morre, QB-his stats don't tell the whole story...was on the mark all day. Intriging potential pick for someone despite his size.

5) Joe Adams, WR-shifty & broke several tackles for 120+ yds receiving. I'm beginning to think he will terrify DB's with his speed & ability to make big plays. Perfect slot WR.

6) Quentin Coples-dominant all day! repeatedly in the backfield & even deflected 3 passes

7) Juron Criner, WR-ran good routes & repeatedly open

8) Isiah Pead, RB-showed vision, speed & cutting abilities on limited runs & PR.

9) Ta'amu Alameda-anchored DLine & bullrushed his way in backfield several plays

Melvin Ingram also showed great burst to the QB, and a nice bull rush.

Joe Adams - WR - would be truly cool (awesomeness):p to get this guy in the 3rd.

Coples was going against Osemele as the RT, who did OK at first. But he's a OG at the next level.

Here's a nice breakdown:

They weren't impressed by Moore.

Didn't have the chance to watch the game since I don't have NFL network but heard both Ingram and Upshaw were terrible since neither have the necessary athleticism to play the position. I still stand by my stance that neither are the athletic pass rushing freak this defense needs imo..

Anyone else think Upshaw and Ingram will fall towards the 2nd round after the combine? The league just doesn't put a premium on guys who can't get to the QB and also don't have a huge ceiling for improvement.

There has been no mention of him, but, I noted that the right guard - Philip Blake from Baylor - stoned everyone throughout the game.

I think Mike Adams made some money yesterday

The fact that he went up against two of the best defensive players in the SEC and didn't let either of them sniff the QB should help his stock.

Prior to yesterday I was thinking if the top OTs were gone, maybe the Cards could trade back six or seven spots*** and take Adams. Now I am not so sure he would be guaranteed to be there.

***Of course, it assumes somebody wants to trade up.

The thing about all the pass rushers not lasting well in the 1st round is that this would mean more O linemen should be available.

I'm intrigued by the idea of the kid from Troy falling to us in the 3rd.

One thing we have to remember. SEC defenders only have had to rush the passer a couple of times a game for the last 4 years. Big 12 defenders on the other hand haven't seen a run that wasn't a draw play for 4 years.

I could see the Cards taking Adams at #13. I've seen some draft boards having Adams go to the Eagles with the 15th pick. I think if the Cards want him they should take him with their pick. He looks better than Stanford's Martin.

I like the kid but its hard to put too much stock in the Senior Bowl because with no Blitzing it gives an unrealistic advantage to the OL. He will be a good one.
