Sorry I meant, by coming out of the contract of Shaq, we could get younger and move towards a better future. Having Ben Wallace on the team doesn't exactly make us better lol. Shaq really disappointed me today and I've been a huge Shaq fan. He basically said "I quit" with this action. How as a Suns fan can I trust him to play 100 percent anymore? It's not possible.

22 points and 9 rebounds....not bad for a guy who isn't playing 100 percent.....
He will be ready for the next games, it's Shaq, he does it his whole career....

Sarver has openly admitted on the local radio in two interviews that he was ready to trade Shaq to Cleveland for Ben Wallace and a first round pick. Had they not played well the last two games, it was a done deal.

So no, it was not a media created thing.

If so, that's reason number 5431 robert sarver is a moron.

Andrew....Sarver has said repeatedly to the local media that Shaq was going to be traded to Cleveland.

The owner said that. It's not something the media made up. And upset about being traded. Sure.

Packing up and saying he isn't part of the team anymore. No.

I'm not sure why you keep stating this.
HE also said HE was the one who declined the trade.Cleveland called we said NO.

we said no because the suns wanted wally's contract instead of ben's.

i could have swore i heard a clip with shaq a few days ago with him being asked about being in trade rumors and he said something along the lines of "it's a business decision, i've been traded myself 3 or 4 times so it doesn't bother me." kind of weird for him to be all upset now about it.

That statement could have been taken out of context, you have no idea why or how he said it or if he followed up on it at all. What is wrong with a guy doing whatever the hell he wants to do with his locker? I did that when I was in high school, was I pissed at the media too?

Andrew there is no other context or follow up because that's all Shaq said. The reporters asked him a question, the answer they got was about Shaq not being a part of the team.

Shaq wanted to be traded. He was fine with it being "a business decision" because that's what he wanted. Instead all that happened was the coach that made sure he got his touches and shots got fired and he has to stay put.

No wonder he's pissed.

yeah he is staying here at least for the rest of this season and I can understand that he hates the media now but with this action it he also destroys some team chemistry which is not what we need.

Says who? So he cant be friends with players and be mad at the FO at the same time. God knows that dept has given the players enough reason to be pissed this season.

I simply don't know if those are true, there is no acceptance on my part because of it. You are putting words in my mouth and I don't appreciate it. Rather than attack me and my opinion, respect it like a civil human being or else hold it in.

I am done with this discussion.

Andrew,

A few months ago I wrote a lengthy post in your defense that ended up getting me banned. I really wish I wouldn't have ever wrote that post. Not because it got me banned but because I have learned that when it comes to you talking about Shaq all intelligence and logic go out the window.

Are you really denying that if these reports are true (which it seems pretty apparent they are) that this isn't an extremely selfish move? The fact that you can't acknowledge that is weird. Just as this team finally starts to gain some momentum the man with the most influential voice in the locker room cleans out his locker and says "he shouldn't be on this team anymore" and that "he is no longer a part of this team" or whatever? That is one of the most selfish, self-centered moves I have ever heard of in this organization.

I am a Shaq fan and am extremely glad he didn't get dealt. I still think the Marion-Shaq deal was a good one and think Shaq gives us a chance to be successful this year. But acknowledge that this is a childish move that is detrimental to this team if true. If anything Shaq should be flattered that when given the opportunity to save $20,000,000, Sarver passed because he feels Shaq remaining on the team is our only shot to win a title this year.

This isn't meant to e a personal attack, but come on man get your head out Shaq's pants and think logically.

Shaq was never going to be a Cavalier, and we all know that.

Shouldn't he have a right to be pissed if he was traded? He has done nothing but help this team...

And we all knew that? Really? Sarver himself said it was close to being done.

And why would he be pissed? Cleveland is almost a lock to make the finals this year.

I agree; you guys are all getting your knickers in a twist.

Shaq loves drama and loves to entertain. I doubt he's serious about this - just having a little fun with the media.

Dumb statement. There are players that play that ass off their entire careers and never see rings.

Besides anybody who questions Shaqs work ethics since joining the Suns has not been listening. The training staff has raved at how hard he works in the gym.

That's a pretty big deal. And with the drama around this team, why isn't it plastered around the internet? This is Shaq, one of the biggest personalities in sports. And another bad thing to throw on the Phoenix Suns bonfire? They would eat it up! How come it's not a front page item on ESPN or CBS or Fox?

The only place where there is more drama then the Suns locker room is this forum. Bunch of name calling bickering threads that sounds like a bunch of displaced jilted lovers.

Many of you make it difficult to follow the team and follow the 5-6 posters who know what they are talking about with this team .

There are Warner fans on the Cards boards and while we give them crap there is no where near the level of vitirol that is directed at Andrew.

Just put him on ignore if you feel compelled to go crazy on him and can't handle it and have to get all up in arms. Jeez - talk about machismo through a key board.

What I take away from this story is the owner is a jackass for going on the radio and talking about trades that "almost happened"....what an attention *****. I'd be pissed if I was Shaq too.

The ONLY thing we've seen about anything like this is one little paragraph in Coro's write-up on the game, and that was from BEFORE the game, not after!

If Shaq keeps playing hard and we keep winning games, who cares?

Most of these stars have huge egos and need to feel loved and coddled. If that's not the reason in this case and Shaq feels like his window of championship opportunity is closing and really did want to go to Cleveland, so what?

Any reason why Shaq wouldn't demand a buyout from Sarver this week? The guy has 2-3 years tops left to play and wants to add a couple rings, why would he want to stay with a non-playoff team now that Amare is out? Sarver could save several million by buying him out, add on a few more for reducing luxury tax exposure.

Whether it's the mere fact that his name was in deadline-day trade talks or that he wanted his trade to Cleveland to go through and it didn't, this much we know: Shaquille O'Neal is not happy.
Shaq has launched one of his famed media strikes in the wake of the talks between the Suns and the Cavs, which ultimately did not deliver an O'Neal deal Thursday.

What amazes me the most about this whole episode is that according to the reports, Shaq cleaned out his own locker. If I was making $20M per, you could bet your sweet ass that I would have one of my people or a locker room attendant clean out my locker for me while I was at the spa or enjoying a cognac and a massage. To me this shows he still has energy and motivation. :D

Cleveland really didn't show LBJ much by holding onto Wally World when they could have traded him for Shaq. They must be resigned to him going to NY.

I am not disrespecting Shaq at all. I am a huge Shaq fan and think he is playing great ball right now. I am simply saying if these things are true than :this is exactly what Shaq did wrong to Phoenix. That said he played excellent last night and I think this is a complete non issue. With Shaq being the only post presence we will have going down the stretch he will decide how far we go so we need him on board and positive.
