Well...I can see you like to associate with losers by your Harry quote and the loveable loser Cubs...birds of a feather...I guess... Ahem!!! Just what is it you think you see here Swamie????? Just because I use a famous Harry Carey quote, you refer to Harry as a loser, and insinuate my quoting him somehow "associates" me with him and makes me a "loser" too?
Are you for real??? Do you really expect to be taken seriously when you spew out childish gibberish like this??

but your comments are off base and clueless...
MY comments are offbase and clueless???? And yours aren't????? Pray tell what makes them so clueless there Wunderkind??? Your say so??? Pardon me if I'm not impressed.

you ignore the facts that we can take a hit on the Oline if it gets us an Impact guy at WR or DE or CB.... This is a "Fact"????? How so? If anything ever fell into the catagory of wild speculation and personal opinion...this is certainly it. There's no "fact" here. Only your opinion.
I repeat...Shelton is not an Impact guy... [OK...um yeah, right. he can be replaced by what is on our roster currently...without missing a beat. Well, it's your story....might as well stick to it.
Your logic is that it aint...broken? BY moving Davis...to LT nothing will be broken...get a clue ...Ahh yes, once again the proverbial pot calling the kettle black. we need more players on....DEFENSE...Did I say otherwise?
suggest a better plan to get them... I could take all day making suggestions that I feel might be better than that, and it would just be a waste of everyone's time anyway. Would you actually read them?
with out attacking an idea that would only reduce depth that can be replaced by signing a FINA.....So what's the logic of this sentence?
the only scarecrow in this conversation is you........NYA, NYA, NYA,....Boy I guess you really told me there!! Should I just go eat worms now too???

Your succeeded beyond all expectations in doing just that.

:D

There thought you might like some of your tone back at ya.

Shelton is our only player we could lose and not leave a gaping whole on the whole team that anyone would give anything of value for.

I'd like to see you prove me wrong on that.

Woe did this thread grow????

You guys crack me up!!!

The only comment that I have ever mentioned about Shelton is the simple idea of this team not losing another first round pick without compensation ---- done!

I love Shelton at left tackle. I would hope that he would be here for the next 5 to 7 years. My point is simple, offer him a long term deal right now not next year when his contract has expired. Those of you who are proponents of LJ should agree with that. He has played well enough to warrant a new contract just like McKinnon got and Just like Tugboat received. Right????

If he refuses this contract and would like to wait until next year, then Rod Graves needs to be proactive and see what his market would bring on the trading block. If he could enhance our chances of adding an additional first round pick which would greatly improve our club then I say go for it.

But, I would still rather have Shelton here for years to come!

Hopefully that will satify you Skkorp

I'd like to see you prove me wrong on that. I'm not the one to do that. You obviously have your own little mind made up and know everything already.
Time will be the one to prove you wrong.
Although I think such fantasies are so much just that...that the whole situation is really a moot point anyway.

Thats basically it in a nutshell. A good GM would take the time now to see what Shelton is going to do and if he waffles or hems and haws then trade him for a higher pick.

Shelton is a very known commodity if he isn't warm to the idea of signing a long term deal now he won't be in the future and then we are right back in the whole tag ordeal again.

If he is receptive then do the deal now and move on.

Oh and Tang whats with the little mind thing..... Have a small complex for some reason?

Enough With the Misleading Topic Headlines

No, Dobie. What you did was to post a misleading topic heading that said something like: Shelton to be traded - and then snuck in a questionmark because you thought it would be "cute."

I HATE:

- "Just kidding" topic headlines.

- "Teaser" lead-in topic headlines that don't tell anyone what the thread is actually about and make you go there in order to determine what the completed lead-in sentence really is.

- Phony topic headlines with a questionmark at the end.

I have no idea if others on this board feel the same way, but I'd be happier if - when you have something to say, SAY IT, and have the ego-strength to believe that if you accurately describe in the topic what you want to talk about, people will want to read it.

Hey Jeff,

I'm sorry but I did not know that you were the internet sheriff??? Besides that, I didn't start this thread I only commented on this. And by the way, those who can read certainly know what I am saying- I stand by it 100% . You know what's worse than someone who thinks he has it all right is someone who exhibits his overcritical mannerisms in public. You are a legend in your own mind.

You're an idiot!!!!

I was very careful to state that this was how I felt and that I didn't know if anyone else felt that way.

Legend in own mind
Just one person who has a right to his opinion

You're an idiot!!!!
How old are you? 12?

It would appear to me that YOU are the one that's being a little over sensitive to every little inneundo.

I stand by the context of the entire sentence you quoted and would now simply add:

If you walk like a duck and you talk like a duck....then Viola!!! maybe you are a duck. :D

And Jeff I agree with you completely. It's my guess that people who write misleading and/or purposely vague thread titles are probably more concerned about tricking people into reading the thread than they are about making valid points and relying on the content of what they say to be of any influence.

This thread is indeed a perfect example of that.
To most people the line "Shelton to be dealt?" would imply that someone other than the poster had suggested the idea....which in this case is totally, totally a fabrication. If someone was really honest you would expect a title more along the line....."Should the Cards consider trading Shelton?"

Idiotic comments

deserve no response and that's what it shall be..... Just remember that posters are simply expressing their opinion and posters do not deserve to be called names such as Dobie?????

My statement was honest and forthcoming you figure it out!
