Lets just squash this thread right here. Every Raider or Card fan is not represented by this incident. Don't run around with pitch forks, respect those that got hurt over a game. Keep it legit. No need to bump this, it aint good.

Since this is the first time this has happened during a Raider game I guess you are right. Oh wait... It's not!

That's the dumbest thing I've heard all day

Do you go to the games DD? I'm not suggesting that one incident is indicative of the entire fan base or should represent the entire fan base, and there were no incidents with any fans in my section or the ones around me -- but the Raider crowds that show up to our games do seem to be, in general, a different breed than I observe with other team's crowds.

I have never been to a Cardinals game, but I play Madden a lot.

We were right in the middle of a huge fight in the 4th quarter - out on the main concourse. Two guys in a standoff taunting each other. One walked away. The other kept his arms up looking after him with his buddies holding him back. He must not have looked at where he went because in a couple of minutes the other guy doubled back and blindsided him with a flurry of fists to the back of his head. Then rather than running off and likely getting away from security/police, the guy backed off slowly, raising his jersey to show off a network of tattoos. The guy who assaulted the one guy, that one guy, and one of that guy's friends were all hauled off and hog-tied because they refused to stop resisting. All 3 - Cardinals' fans. :|

The guy who got beat up must have been cheering for Kolb.

Raider fans are a different kind of scum.

I think Obi Wan was talking about Oakland Coliseum not Mos Eisley when he said, " You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"

The shooting occurred during the 3rd quarter of the game -- probably as these fans were leaving.

Looks like it happened in the far northwest corner of the parking lot, near the freeway and near the Ramada hotel.

Once you let Ramada move into the neighborhood, the whole area goes to hell.

I have been to lots of games and raiders games are just bad. There were several fights in front of us, and this is a freakin preseason game. I'll never go to another raider game.

There are violent idiots in every single fan base. The Raiders, however, bring out an astonishing number of these people. I've been to 150-200 NFL games in person at this point, I've seen the Cardinals play every team in the league in person, more than once. The Raiders games bring out an ugly crowd. If you were to say to me "guess what, a shooting, stabbing, near fatal beating, just happened at an NFL game, pick the right game, and you get a hundred bucks." I'd pick the Raiders game every time.

dd, it's obvious you've never been to a Raiders game. Of all the fans in the NFL, they are the most obnoxious, overbearing, beligerant, loudmouthed, intolerant, drunken bums you will ever see. Before, during and after the game, you can see them out in the parking lot looking for a fight from anyone who walks past or throwing up and rolling in their own vomit. Disgusting.

Clearly football fans arguing. Article says both men are Phoenix residents. Shooter actually called 911 and waited for the cops. Victim looks like he will make it.

I think this is less about Raider fans and more about preseason fans. People who would never go to an NFL game can get their hands on tickets cheap and they clearly don't know how to act like real fans. Preseason crowds generally suck. (see what happened in Minn last night for another less-serious example of what I am talking about).

In L.A. that was pretty much your typical Raiders fan/local gangbanger who you got stuck behind in line at the Circle K.

I think the problem with Raiders fans is many of them know little to nothing about the football team/sport. It sure seems like a lot of fans that come just to wear the colors and start trouble. The Raiders colors/logo and past Southern Calif roots make them very popular with gangs, and wannabe gangsters.

That really brings out the worst in a crowd. I prefer the diehard fan that roots for their team, but can give an ounce of credit to the other team. This type of fan encourages a more positive football atmosphere for both the home and visiting team.

Part of my favorite thing in the NFL is getting to see the best the world has to offer. Some of the best conversations I have had are with the opposition's fans are educated and football-focused. They can point out the strengths/weaknesses of their team and you can do the same for the Cards. This really adds to the experience when you get to learn what others expect to see, especially where they think their strengths/weaknesses lie against the Cards. I just haven't had that type of experience at Raiders games.

I know it's easy to assume that this incident involved a Raiders fan (and, trust me, I am not trying to defend their fan base), but we don't even know what happened, do we??

The shooter was with his wife at the time. Not exactly the profile for a gang member out looking for trouble.
