No...this can't be right. From what I've read in this thread, Raiders fans are angels.
Keep on judging without being there or having all the facts, good luck with that. How you can stick up for somebody shooting somebody in the face...makes you sound like your version of a Raiders fan. You totally ruined my vibe. Good luck with that perspective, maybe Penn State will except you.

an old man with his wife is being harassed by a rowdy raider fan. flashes his badge and his gun and says to calm down and the fan doesnt stop. Not sure what else this guy could do and getting in a brawl with some drunk preseason fan would be a bad idea dude may stab you.

Seems cut and dry to me, even the cops said no biggie. To continue to be appaled is just funny.

the reports are out, the story is out, the guy is not being arrested. case closed.

If Raiders fan follows the guy to his car after the Cardinals guy is trying to walk away from the situation, if Raiders guy isn't willing to let Cardinals guy walk away he deserved to get shot in the face and is lucky he is not dead. I have no problem saying it.

So basically I can shoot anyone in the face, I just gotta get a gun and feel threatened, might be a good idea to have some homies on the force. Don't do that bro, he shot someone in the face.

If you are being followed and threatened by someone it is ok to defend yourself, yes.

Are you threatening me, I guess it doesn't matter because all I have to say is you were. Hell yeah I'm hood, been threatened and have been in many fights. Never shot anyone in the face and I've been beat up by the best. Good luck with that feely shoot first ask later BS.

same alley, never carried my guns on me, plenty been pointed at me though. Thankfully, noone ever shot but I also backed off whenever the gun came out.

the bottom line is if you are truly threatened and have to shoot you should be able to. There were witnesses to what happened.

Not trying to be standoffish but how does this kind of rational jive with the shooter claiming it was "an accident"? Especially since he was a cop and presumably had more firearm training that most of us ever will.

Was it self-defense or an accident?

The bottom line is we weren't there.

I thought the accident part was the fishy part, you cant accidently shoot when you point the gun

so he could go to his car to get a gun - but not just get in and drive away?

The fact that shooter is being pursued will be hugely relevant to show he is justified in threatening or using deadly force in self defense. The argument however, that shooter could have chosen to get into his car and possibly driven away, (although good luck getting away in that parking lot quickly), that fact can't even be uttered in court. No duty to run away in Arizona, no matter how possible or easy to do so.

yeah - you can still leave ..... if someone is demented enough they want to come and pound on your vehicle - then pull your weapon and have them back off ..... but it's usually best to not escalate situations

I don't get how you accidently shoot someone in the face. Seems like there's an adverb in that sentence that doesn't quite fit.

Maybe he intended to shoot him and the accidental part has to do with the location.
