Adams is big but he's not an enforcer, he's actually a pretty nice guy and a good sport on the court.
Yeah, hence my frustration he doesn't rip guys heads off on fouls! :)

Saw a proposal of trade with Dallas, McGee, Hardaway Jr, Bullock for Ayton would you guys do that? I feel like I would do that in a heartbeat…

I definitely would not deal with Dallas and help them get rid of McGee's contract. The Suns can do better or keep Ayton.

No we don't.

Did the Net's need one when Harden, Kyrie and Durant were all playing together?

Did the Warriors need one with Steph, Klay and Durant?

I honestly have no idea.

I didn't even know those three won a championship with the nets and I couldn't tell you who the front court guys for GSW were. I know Green was there. Adams is no Green.

I do agree, we wouldn't need scoring if we had a front court guy averaging 11 boards, 8 Assists, with a couple blocks and a couple steals per game.

Green for DA any day of the week, Adams, not so much.

Uh, they had Draymond who is one of the most mobile bigs of all time.

Here is the conclusion I have come to - what we need out of Ayton with this big 3 is Defense and Rebounding - pretty much exclusively. Will he be happy in that role even if we can motivate him to do those things at his best ability? I don't think so.

There are better centers at Defense and Rebounding available for far less - Capella, maybe Steven Adams, and others that are at least comparable to him like Mitchell Robinson and Wendell Carter.

If our goal is to make the team better, getting an additional rotation player along with a guy that can do everything we need out of a center only makes sense, not to mention getting rid of a constant distraction that Ayton's personality seems to generate.

Basically what I am saying is I have come to the realization that Ayton's unlocked potential is almost all on the offensive end - and with the Beal trade we don't need it. The other consideration is breaking his salary into 2 or 3 smaller salaries gives us greater flexibility in making future trades.

Therefore I now think trading him for at least 2 usable guys is better than 1 even if we don't get full value.
Before Beal, I didn't want to trade Ayton. If they can get a serviceable C, a backup 3 and a 1st, they should do it.

Steven Adams is absolutely an enforcer despite being a nice guy and not really having an aggressive demeanor. He straight up picks guys up like they are kids out on the court to protect his teammates.

No. That is total crap. If the number 10 is included - maybe, but we should be able to do better than that.

Draymond is not a center. you are talking about whoever is our other forward, and yes they should be able to shoot the 3. The center on the other hand needs to stay by the basket.

I know we harp on Ayton but that's garbage in return for something recyclable.

People keep talking about 18 and 10

But this is a what have you done for me lately league - and dynasty or not - Denver is top dog right now - and Ayton isn't doing a damn thing

That isn't 18 and 10

That's 10.8 and 8

Against a team we'll most definitely be seeing again. I can't believe this is still a debate if it's a ring we're after because Ayton is not the answer and he's got way too much of the pie

That's not even counting the game he sat out. How do you finish the game, show up to and finish practice, but then not play in an elimination game? I'm no Dr mind you, but I'd say this patient needs a heart transplant

10.8 and 8 and a scratch

And nobody wants him now because there's this thing called the internet

There was a viral video of our guy shoeing away imaginary butterflies behind the damn backboard while Jokic is putting in work. There's another vid of him going deaf while Book and Durant plead with him during a time out, and that's to go on top of the same vid from last year when he checked out

How could Booker possibly trust this guy in battle again?

Ayton is also the guy that played fantastic against Jokic two years ago. It seems Jokic has gotten better so I wouldn't expect that again.

The point is though you can't gage any player by one playoff series.

I agree Jokic has gotten better but I wouldn't say Ayton played fantastic against him 2 years ago. I remember Jokic beating Ayton all over the court while trying to carry a wounded roster

But we don't have to gage this off of one series or even against one team - because this has happened more than once

FWIW,

There is a reported market for Deandre Ayton. I want something really special.

It's the monthly special. Suns might want to bring back more in salary (players) in an Ayton trade.

If Washington wants Ayton, could we work something like Porzingis/Deni or Porzingis/Kuzma? Isn't Ayton a better return than Brogdon?

In the 5 games DA played against Denver he was the team’s 3rd highest scorer in 3 of 5.

His 4 points on May 5th was 4th in team scoring behind Warren and Payne who tied for 3rd with 7-points each. On 05/07 Shamet was the third highest scorer and he’s gone.

The playoff dysfunction of this team goes beyond Ayton.

You can be a nice guy and an enforcer.

I don't know if Adams is the guy we need but he is 100% an enforcer and one of the toughest dudes in the NBA.
