On one hand, its an interesting read. On the other, for being an acknowledged top 3 finalist, the Cardinals merit barely two sentences in a 5 page article.

No insight whatsoever on the day he spent in Phoenix -- and other than noting Whis was a golfing buddy, no real insight on what Peyton thought of the team.

???

Everybody was in the same ballpark and given what I've read, Tenn was the most lucrative arrangement long-term.

I strongly doubt the Cards offered him 5/90.

What BS. I expected to read towards the end of that article the Cardinals were never major players and instead we were one of the three finalists NOT San Francisco?!?

And I know for sure King was in Az during the time Peyton was here because he tweeted about being at Spring Training games.

No respect. I would have loved to read about his meeting with Cards and his thought process and King actually talks about Seattle more then Az! Unbelievable.

I also wonder why there isn't anything about the Cardinals there besides the mention of his visit and of Whiz being a golfing buddy. I don't expect to hear much about the Bidwills, about whom no one but us really cares, but I would expect at least a Fitzgerald mention.

But then, the Arizona visit was oddly the most transparent of them all. Maybe there isn't anything to say that we didn't know. He arrived at the facility. Fitzgerald arrived shortly after. Etc.

If it was about:
Best shot at a Super Bowl:San Fran

Best place to be comfortable:Tennessee

Best place for money: Denver

Making a easy transition(comfortable with offense and throwing to the best Wr in the game/except for the oline):Arizona

Denver is skeptical to play: running game was good cuz of tebow(seeing they ran most of the time.) that made there defense better. Which I don't see the defense being good, giving up 20+ points in 7 games.

I really cannot think of a good reason why he would even consider the Cards. He wants a ring and we are not very close to that. The last good team we had was when Warner was here. We have marginal CAP space and an owner not known for having a Passion to win. Our GM is not popular with the fans to say the least. Whether Whiz would want to change his offense to fit Peyton's strengths is not known to us. I do not think we ever were a serious consideration. With that in mind I am not at all concerned he did not sign with us. He probably has at best 2-3 years left and even with him I do not think that gets us in the Superbowl. I wish him luck. He was perhaps the greatest QB of all time but I did not like the way he conducted his dog and pony show in his search. I think Denver had it nailed down all the way. He could have probably got the best money deal in Tennessee as that owner will spend what ever it take and Peyton did have ties to Tennessee as that is where he went to college. If he and his family are winter sports enthusiast that is a great place. The desert offers cactus and year around warmth. Last but not least where would we even get $20+ million to pay him without cutting some guys we need and forgetting about the future. The Cards are unlikely to ever attract a top flight FA QB with our history. We will either find one in FA or get lucky and find a Warner who every team had given up on and who comes along about once a century. We got lucky with Warner. I doubt our brillance saw what every other team could not. We start the season with unknown QB problems and without an ace QB we will not win the division now or never. You just do not win without a top flight QB. It is like having a plane with no pilot.

The "talking heads' on the NFL Network said that all accepted the parameters of the deal.

The initial deal that Denver offered was reported at 5/60 when the Cards were still in the hunt. Then it jumped to 5/90 after we were already out of the picture.

If it wasn't why didn't he pick the 49ers. They have the most complete team in the NFL.

Peyton does not need any money. He is going for the ring. No one could outbid the owner of the Titans if it was just a matter of money. I also think that John Elway was as good a salesman as it gets when it came to Peyton and he went over his plan on how they would win. I also think he let Peyton know that he could still make the calls at the LOFS and have an offense much like he did in Indianapolis. If Peyton's wife is like most wives you can bet she had some input as to how life would be in a given community. Denver is a great place to live. I lived there for 4 years. There comes a time in your life when money is not all that matters once you have enough to live like a King for the rest of your life already. I just hope Peyton done not suffer some serious injury as a result of coming back to early from multiple neck fusions. When Humpt Dumpty fell off that wall all the Kings Horses and all the Kings men could not put Humpt Dumpty back together again.

If it was about a Super Bowl he would've picked San Fran, also San Fran is a better place to live then Denver, they are more of a complete team than Denver. So I don't see the point.

Best place for the money is not Denver it's Tennessee. They have no income tax on wages, only on interest and dividends. So if the salary is the same, net income is higher. :D

Two points on this:

1) You know that the MEDIAN defense in the NFL allowed 21.7 points per game, right? The Cards allowed 21+ points in 7 games last year, including to offensive juggernauts like San Francisco and Minnesota.

2) In Denver Peyton has a defensive minded head coach who is just as likely/able to hand over the reins of his offense. His offensive coordinator is flexible enough to re-design his entire offense mid-season.

If it was about a Super Bowl he would've picked San Fran, also San Fran is a better place to live then Denver, they are more of a complete team than Denver. So I don't see the point.

This is a moot point. Both places are totally awesome to live in.

The reason I think there was very little said about the Cards is because nobody with the Cards talked to Peter King about what happened here. Manning wasn't talking to King and the Cards weren't talking to King so he didn't have any info to discuss what went on here.

I think the key reason he didn't come to Arizona or San Francisco was purely because of the AFC-NFC thing. He's more familiar with the AFC and as ridiculous as it sounds, I think the Mannings wanted to keep the possibility, no matter how remote it may be, of a Eli vs Peyton Super Bowl.

And he denied all of this in an NFL Network interview.

Is there any data for snap counts for defenses. If so, can someone post a link. I can't look for it on my phone.
