For the love of ... Can we stop with the "no respect" BS already? The article was about manning and the broncos. It hardly mentioned any other team--There is no disrespect given to the Cards.

I'd love to know what he thought of our organization, too. But that's not what this article was about.

It could be about the money, or perhaps it's not a conspiracy and he genuinely felt more comfortable playing under the lead of Elway who knows better then anyone else what it takes for an old QB to win a SB.

On Saturday night Manning called Dungy to discuss the pros and cons of the three finalists: Denver, Arizona, Tennessee. Then he asked, "Are there any other things I should be thinking about?"

----

That's supposed to be Sat 17th. A day after we paid Kolb and we announced that we are out of Manning chase. And he is still discussing us with Dungy?
guess he meant 49ers

Thats not entirely true. I had privately informed Manning that if he changed his mind and decided to come to Arizona that I had a hit squad prepared to eliminate the "Kolb problem."

From reading the article, I feel the one who hurted us the most early in the process is KW.
KW was pushing (following media) that PM will end up in Miami.
KW ended his career in AZ and he knew of our interest in PM, but never put a good word
When PM was in AZ, KW msged him to join KW flag football thing. I think KW missed the point that PM would never throw in public at that moment. KW said that PM never msged him back while he was in AZ.
Also, why Cards never brought KW to the meeting? KW could have sold the offense and what he was doing here etc... from a QB point of view.
If you're PM and you see the team ex-QB promoting another team?! That's it.

As an employee of the NFL network is Kurt even allowed to overtly recruit players to join specific franchises? I wouldnt be surprised if him joining Manning and Whiz at the facility would have been a no-no.

Also, can we just refer to him as "Kurt" or "Warner", the "KW" thing gets a little confusing with 'KW' "Ken Whisenhunt".

That is a pretty cool story. It all came down to the titans, broncos, and cardinals. Lost because of Elway again. Lost money on all 5 of his superbowls.

My thoughts exactly...

Manning went to the Broncos because an ex SB winning QB tugged at his heart-strings... At least that's what I came away with.

You are missing the point of the story and what Peyton Manning wants. When money not an issue for say, then comes down to where he felt more comptable. John Elway (accrording to the article) and what Elway has to offer Manning is the main reason why Peyton Manning chose the Broncos. Nothing that the Cardinals didn't do.

New theory:

"...So, Peyton. That's the Cardinals; I think we have a lot to offer," says Whiz.

Manning replies "MmmHmm. Throwing to Fitz sounds great." But then immediately thinks "which I can't do laying on my back. I wonder if John Fox will send a car for me at the airport."

Behind this oline in preseason so far? His comeback would already be over.

Damn you Manning... :mulli: we could have been playoff bound.
??? You still think he could preform behind this line? I think he can mask a lot of problems, but this line is beyond bad. It's the very worst in the league.

I don't think Whiz would have put DJ Young with Manning behind center.

And, yes, some of the OL deficiencies can be overcome by a great QB...

There is no bigger Manning fan than me on this board. But he's not a panacea.

A good QB can improve an OL a little. A good QB can improve WRs a little.

This belief that QBs are demi-gods that can remove all problems needs to really stop

He is for the QB position.
But not for the OL.

Seems to me Manning made the right choice for himself this offseason. Would the Cardinals be a better team with him? Hell yes. But, IMO, the playoffs would still be very much in question.

No one said that.

I guess you folks are enjoying the crapy QB competition and are thrilled to go into the season with one of them.

Bad Oline contributes to bad QB play. Its a team sport, one thing relies on the other. Kinda hard to read a defense when you're on your back.

General rule of thumb is that if a sack takes happens in less than 4 seconds then its on the OLine. If its over 4 secs, its on the QB. Our QBs are getting pressured before they can finish a 3 step drop. Hell the first play we had a 2 TE set, meaning 7 blockers, against a 4 man rush and still got their asses handed to them. No QB can do well in those circumstances ... NONE

Yeah, that's what's being said in this thread--or any thread for that matter. Jesus. Get a grip.
