I was hoping a new staff could flip the switch but I don’t think he has it. Not worried about him turning it around in NY.

Another example, the Cardinals have to get better at drafting. It looks like the Cardinals continue to clean house.

What a freaking catastrophe. Chopper is absolutely right that someone decided they either didn't want to be asked about Isaiah Simmons' status week after week or worried that Simmons himself would become a distraction. For all Simmons' limitations he's more valuable than Tanner Vallejo.

Keim was a fool, but people should keep in the back of their minds that the Wizard of Oz got a single 7th round pick for a former top 10 pick who had 4 sacks, 2 INTs, 7 passes defensed, and 2 forced fumbles last year (and is going into a contract year) and a three-time All Pro WR.

just noticed: a 2024 7th rounder

the Monti calculus went like this (i think):

Isiah won't be on the team after this year based on what we have seen --

and since the team declined his 5th year option, he wont figure into the compensatory pick formula, so...........

Mods - can we end up merging this with the other Simmons thread on first page?

It's nice to have everything in one place for future reference.

Probably the likely scenario.

Never used right. Could have been another Daryl Washington. When a player doesn’t read and react well you assign him to whatever so he doesn’t have to think. Like cover the back or cover the tight end or blitz the A gap. Putting him as a DB was stupid. I put this on coaching.

if it makes anybody feel any better:

that 2020 1st round draft isnt turning out well for most

start at 8 and go down:

some clear winners-- Wirfs, Justin Jefferson, AJ Terrel, Jedrick Wills, CD Lamb

but many disappointments in the next 24 picks or so

premium position theory would have had the Cards taking Wirfs, Wills, Terrel... or CJ Henderson
and to be clear, i dont think the above makes it ok

good drafting teams find serviceable players in mediocre drafts. the 49ers took Brandon Aiuyk late in the round. He would probably be WR1 on this roster for the Cards.
