Thanks for clearing that up, coach.

It's kind of hard, because the reporter has to ask the question, and the coach has to say something, but he absolutely cannot just dump on the player.

Someone has to give him a better talking point than "well, you know, we had to move forward," and JG has to decide to deliver that.

We only save 1 mill from this move. We should have kept him for value on special teams or occasional 3rd down packages.
In 3 years with the Cardinals, Simmons played a total of 193 snaps on Special Teams...25% of ST snaps (112) in his rookie year 2020, 18% of ST snaps (81) in 2021 and ZERO in 2022. He was never a Special Teams guy.

Simmons' base salary is $1.01 million this year. It's nothing, even in a rollover.

BUT -- Michael cut him a check for nearly $2.5 million roster bonus three weeks ago. LOL!

Created $5.5 million in dead cap money to "save" $1 million.
Maybe Isaiah was showing "ego"

He's a star sheet stuffer who makes mistakes on routine plays. Sure he makes big plays but you cant trust on routine coverages.
Okay. But that's not Buster Davis "absolutely can't play."

The large majority on this board believed Isaiah Simmons could play a role -- maybe a significant role -- until like five days ago. We've seen plenty of snaps to know that Simmons probably won't and can't live up to his draft status but also that he belongs in the NFL. He's better than not being able to make the roster on a team that will be fortunate to get five wins this year.

A crappy DB/LB/DE/Water boy is a distraction to the team? How mentally weak is this team if a guy who makes very few plays becomes a distraction?
When the season is going badly and a former top 10 pick is riding the bench, fans and media will ask questions. Cardinals make this move to avoid that consistently occurring over the next 5 months.

Looks like the coaching staff saw enough of him to know that he absolutely can't fill the role they want him to fill. They already moved him from LB because they didn't think he could play there either.

Weird take to get in a tizzy over moving on from a bust.

I guess the only thing is that check had to be paid, before they could see him in live action, unfortunately. Some guys are nails in practice, but suck balls in live fire...and the opposite can also be true...A dude who practices like poop suddenly puts it all together when the pressure is on. Maybe Simmons really was doing well enough in practice that the coaches thought he could execute during games. it all sucks donkey balls.
