I will take 3-1 terrible any time, including winning the first 2 road games since Week 1 last year---and breaking the team's 6 game losing streak.

5-3 career---4 come from tied or behind 4th Q wins.

All this with a HC who has given him practically no confidence.

And ironically---has saved this HC's job for another year.

Of course he is. Nobody on this board likes the backup QB more than Mitch.:D

Bump. Inconsistent accuracy. Erratic. Skelton cannot get this offense moving.

He is still 100x better than kolb.

If he had a full offseason, he would be a very good QB. Kolb never will be.

Skelton is a good quarterback. That interception was on the receiver as were the ones last week.

Well we won again. Let me say again, with Skepton's pass to Fitz we won the game again. 6-1 in the last 7 games.

Skeleton has all the tools to be great, He makes you cringe now and then.. But when he's on, he gives me more hope than anyone who suited up for the Cards over the last 15 years, not named Warner.

Very poised in the pocket and makes far more good decisions on when to scramble, spin, run for it or throw the ball. Still some room for improvement but that's just a matter of more playing time.

His accuracy is better then it was but he still needs to improve and I think he will. He threw some beautiful balls hitting the WR in perfect stride. It's the short crossing routes, curls and outs that he gets the ball in the general zip code but not where a top notch QB would place it. Again I think he justs needs more time.

He often plays like he has ice in his veins, or at least he carries himself that way. Having said all that I can't wait to see how Kolb does next week.

Skelton is funny, plays pretty good right after a pick, the guy responds well. He also plays good with the game on the line, 2 minute drill style.

If you get him in there with both situations coming into play, a bad pick, and in the 2 minute drill with the clock ticking down and with the pressure getting high...that's when you'll see Skelton make a nice throw.

The drive at the end of the first half was bad ass. The toss to Larry at the end of the game was money, he likes a fast pace, feeds off the pressure. Game started and once again his throws were higher than any hippie I know, but then he started to get into it. He has had a great defense to compliment his play, and even make up for it at times. But this guy is fire when that game is on the line, more times than not.

That being said, I hope Kolb can go next week.

the funniest thing about, well, pretty much EVERY Skelton game is that both the pro and anti-Skellers are seemingly always right for one half.

He's a maddening quarterback. Looks atrocious at times and looks solid at times. I have no idea what he really is, but I do know he doesn't look like a ***** out there which is the only imprint Kolb has made on me unfortunately.

I agree. I would like to see what Skelton could doing if he actually played for 4 quarters. That would be scary.

As long as our defense can keep opponents under 20 points, Skelton gives us a chance to win. Kind of like Tebow.

Impressive, he's had two good games in a row (+60% completion .)

Not sold on Skelton. His accuracy remains horrible. So many of his passes are behind the receivers. They may still be catchable but they don't allow the receiver to maximize the play and eventually that catches up with him (as it did today - that pick was equal parts Skelton and receiver, but if that pass waa where it should have been it couldn't have been picked). That said, there's no doubt he's much more comfortable in the pocket and he certainly makes plays at the end of games.

I just have to keep reminding myself, he's young and hasn't played close to a full season of games. It may come for him.

Or even been in a professional coaching environment for a full season. He was sitting on the backburner from the end of training camp until he became the starter last year, getting few if any reps at all, much less with the first team.

This year he was injured early in training camp after not having an offseason with the coaching staff.

In college he got a quality of instruction that is likely inferior to what he would have received at most of the coaching academies in California, Texas, or Florida. And that was for four years.

Kolb's had five years under Andy Reid and a great offensive staff in Philly. He's terrible. At least with Skelton you can see the arm strength, the poise in the pocket, the toughness, and the creativity. That little outlet to the RB for the first down when he was getting tackled was better than anything that Kolb has been able to do this season.

We were finally converting 3rd downs this game, too. I'm sure this coaching staff is committed to Kolb because they're idiots, but it's pretty clear that Skelton has the greater potential to succeed at this level at this point.

Absolutely, just think what JS would be doing if he had had an offseason and any where near an even chance during the pre-season. Then with his ankle sprain nearly 3 weeks of no or few reps. This was his first of many to come 300 yard passing games.

At this point, for me, he's Jake Plummer part. 2

I'm hating him for 3 quarters and wondering how the hell he even made the team, then he wakes up and we win and I'm hooked all over again. Just wish he could be good more consistently. Just like Jake.:bang:

I like him a lot! He has a good sense for the game. He is cool in the pocket and can make all the throws. Why he starts slow,I don't have an answer for. But I would like too see a legitimate battle for the job in camp. As of now I would like him to start the last two games. All he does is win.

How many of the weak areas in his game are fixable? What is the root cause of his accuracy problems at times?
