Its not too early to call the trade a failure. The Cards made the trade in an effort to get a franchise QB that they would not have to develop, the entire reason they didnt draft a QB on their own was because they thought the team was a QB away from winning now.

With the goals that the trade was intended to live up to it was a complete failure. Nothing about Kolb says "franchise player", and he certainly did not allow them to "win now".

The Cards clearly are a QB away from being an excellent team, and sadly their QB search will likely continue for the next few seasons unless Skelton has another few gears in him, or at least far more consistent ones.

GOD Almighty the kid wins overall NFL record 7-3, according to Whiz he has not had a full training camp, OTA's or reps. in practice, yet he still wins. Come on guys he is playing better than some NFL franchise QB's or supposed FQB's.

Kobe is to frail for the NFL as a starter, Skelton seems a lot stronger. THINK.

At this point, if Kolb is still have symptoms I have no problem with putting him on the shelf until the offseason. Skelton has proven he can handle playing out the season.

But he hasn't won the starting job for next year. Nothing wrong with an open competition next summer.

Makes sense and realistically we are not going to be in the playoffs. Why subject Kolb to the possibility of getting another concussion. Kolb will most likely be the starter next year but who knows what can happen.

Kolb was wearing earplugs on the sideline yesterday. Didn't even wear the radio to hear the playcalls coming in. Unconscionable that we gave up so much for a guy who'd already had two serious concussions in his history.

The problem is its impossible to determine exactly what impact 2 concussions had on Kolb when he passes your physicals.

For example I'm old enough to remember one of the reasons Brett Favre lasted until the 2nd round in his draft. He'd been in a serious car accident in the offseason before his senior year of college, he had 30 inches of his small intestine removed, and he had a concussion which they said he'd already had a couple of them in college from playing.

many teams simply pulled Favre off their board for medical, some others felt he was a partier(he was then) so they downgraded him.

if you'd have said then Favre would set an NFL record for consecutive games started at Qb nobody would have believed you.

Kolb passed all the physical tests, they don't know enough about concussions yet to be able to accurately project who will and won't have further issues. Maybe that's a reason to be cautious when trading for Kolb the point is the Cards med staff did what they could with what's available to them.

Kolb is a castoff from another organization. Double Duece is our guy. Keep playing 22 until he makes it so painful that you have to bench him. Sort of like the castoff did to start this season for the Cards.

Skelton was just on ESPN2 and handled the questions very well. He said the Cardinals have been very upfront with him about his role and told him at the enjd of last season that they would be looking for a starting QB for 2011.

That was a good piece, Skelton said he helped Kolb out early on in the year with the playbook, and he said Kolb helps him out during the games now as well. Said all the right things, he hopes Kolb gets healthy but he's ready to start if we need him too, Skelton is one tough smart cookie.

Missed games due to injuries three times now in less than 2 seasons. Not a good sign or signing for the money the Cards gave him.

Yeah. That's a far cry from what Rothlisberger did yesterday. It was obvious to me that he wasn't ready to play. Yet, I also go the impression that he felt he needed to play to help the Steelers. Why else would he be rushed? Kolb doesn't even try to help his team. Seriously, when has he showed heart?

I believe that is why this team is circling the wagons around Skelton. And so am I.

I can see them talking. Ok dude you take the snap and then you look to see which of the Tackles has whiffed on his block. Then you figure out how to avoid the rush long enough to throw the ball somewhere in the vicinity of the Alien before you get leveled by the pass rush.

What's the old expression it's always easy to be tough with someone else's body?

We have no idea what's going on other than that the staff not only isn't clearing him to start, he's not even suiting up. I gotta think it's not just he doesn't want to play if that were the case we'd have heard chatter from players.

So you'd prefer Kolb to go in with concussion symptoms to prove that he has heart? Not only would it not benefit the Cardinals (won't even go into that), it would be more selfish if anything and not to mention stupid with today's information available regarding head injuries. The turf toe might have been a week too long, but coming in with a concussion just to be heroic isn't being heroic. Rooting for your team, not acting upset because you think you are ready to go and then disrupting the team, helping out Skelton, and working on getting better, that's what shows me he has heart.
We don't have to love one and hate the other, or at least I didn't read it in the brochure.
