I'm with you. Housler has had several good games in a row until this one. He's no Gronk or Graham at this point but he isn't the worthless piece of crap some believe he is.

That pass to him in the endzone was deflected at the los.

As we have all witnessed everyone on the O has been slower than expected on picking up BA's Offense. Housler coming form a tiny college may take a little longer for this O to become second nature.

I still want us to draft another TE by rd 4 this upcoming draft. :)

Housler's been inactive the last two games, and before that he had all of seven receptions for 63 yards and zero impact in the prior two games.

At this point, Housler is a less dependable option than Jim Dray or any of the other top 4 receivers.

Is he a total waste of a roster spot? No, he hasn't entered the Ryan Williams Zone. But he is a waste of time and attention as a promising player at this point. If he does something over the next year of his career before entering free agency, it can only be seen as a bonus.

Nothing will change the idea that he's a massive disappointment.

I'm done rooting for the House, knock that sucker down and buy a better one. You can hit him in the chest or the face with the ball (and that is hard for Az QBs), and he will run to the sidelines after missing it looking stupid like Pete did in the post game.

Winning a game does not excuse a poor performance by an individual player. The coaches don't think that way why should we?

The coaches can and will do something about it in that case. We can't and won't.

Wrong. We can. See Rashard Mendenhall.

Besides if you feel that way why talk about the team at all? Just post "we won" or "we lost" and move on? That would be really exciting.

I mentioned it during the game thread, after the pick in the endzone they showed Arians closeup and you could read his lips saying "you can't bleeping throw that bleeping ball there."

My reaction was huh, it was a dangerous play yes but Housler should have made the catch. Arians basically benched Rob after that play he barely played again. So I have to assume after seeing replays he no longer put the blame there on Palmer and realized a good NFL TE would catch that ball.

Any production we get out of him is a bonus and I agree with K9 that he has been a disappointment. He hasn't shown anything to keep us from finding a better option in the offseason, especially with TE being such a huge part of Arians offense.

I wonder if Steve Keim takes a long look at Eric Ebron? If the top tackles

are gone our first rounder may come down to Vic Beasley or Ebron.

Ebron might be a bit small for Arians liking but you are correct that he will be considered. Throw in Jace Amaro, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and CJ Fidoriwicz to that mix as well. With where we are drafting, it is becoming a greater possibility.

I like Sef-Jenkins, I think he has the all around game. Haven't heard anything about Fidoriwicz?

Good post. I agree, its only his 2nd year & 2nd offense he's had to learn. I think you're right about coming from a small college as well. Probably wasn't that complex of an offense they ran there I would think.

Also that pass that hit him in the face looked like the timing between him & Palmer is still off a little. Lol

It's Rob Housler's third year in the NFL, and Arians's system is a simplified version of what Whisenhunt ran.

The guy has 1 TD catch in 3 NFL seasons and he's supposed to be a receiving tight end.

When Housler bobbled that ball in the endzone leading to an interception by Seattle... there in the fog... I thought the game might be over. It was eerie. A big credit to the Cardinals for winning this game. This was a catch Housler needed to make. Just give me a slow TE that can catch the ball.

Cj Fidoriwicz is a TE from Iowa who is a bit of what Brent Celek has become and what Dewayne Allen was out of college. Solid inline blocker who has enough athleticism and hands to make some plays in the passing game. 6'6 265. From what I have seen from the Cardinals bunch and 2 TE sets, he seems like a really good fit as the #2 TE. Question is if the Cards will be willing to use a 3rd rounder on him which may be what it takes to get him.

Early on in this thread I expressed my disappointment with Housler. When we drafted him I thought it was a good move---big TE with WR speed. After the drops in the Seahawk game I thought he was benched during the game. Was he injured? Curious to see if he is on the injury report for the SF game since he was coming off a groin injury.

He's one of those guys who appears to have the talent and tools but then just doesn't perform. He makes a play or two and you think he's finally in sync with the offensive scheme---then misses when we need it most. Wonder how long the Cards will hold on to him in the hopes that it 'clicks.' Hate to see him cut and then move on to success with another team---and there is a very long list of ex-Cards who went on the great careers after we let them go.

Arians loves the TE in his passing scheme. After Colts drafted Luck, they went TE with his college buddy Fleener. Would not be a surprise to see the Cards go for a Gronk-type TE high in the draft.

I like Fedorowicz. I think his athleticism is under-rated. He's not going to a Gronkowski out there but he can be a poor- man's Jason Witten.
