Unfortunately.

I also sadly remember when that idiot Bob Holloway was starting Tim Van Galder and Gary Cuozzo ahead of Jim Hart. Caused quite a ruckus in St.Louis if I recall correctly.

Speaking of that idiot Holloway (he was one) he replaced Charley Winner as HC of the Cards. He was the son-in-law of legendary HC Weeb Ewbanks. Great name for a HC. Too bad he wasn't one.

Remember Sam "The Rifle" Etcheverry" (QB) from the CFL who played for St. Louis Cards for a couple of years?

Reminds me of Ralph Guglielmi. I'm surprised no one has mentioned King Hill.

Who remembers Myron Pottios...Tucker Fredrikson....Cotton Davidson

Great names and thanks for the memories

I'm partial to U of H players and as much as it pains me to list a cowboy I'm going with Golden Richards.

Bonnie Sloan DT drafted by the cardinals in 75. Was the first deft mute to play in the NFL.

You had to be tough to be named Bonnie and play football!

Yelverton Abraham Tittle

*Anecdote - Buddy Young was a scatback for the (then) NY Football Yankees - He may have been 5-foot 3 standing on a telephone book. After his playing days, he worked in the NFL league office - a very recognizable dude.

Back in the day (probably the late 1970's) as I was taking my early-morning jog up the East River Drive before work, I see - walking in the opposite direction - this sawed off dude smoking a stogie. (He looked like a tiny steamboat emitting billows of smoke from his cigar) - the one & only Buddy Young. As we passed, I yelled, "Hey Buddy! When are you going to put the Cardinals on Monday Night Football?" His terse reply: "When they win!"

In addition to Tank Younger, the LA Rams also had a dude named

Deacon Dan Towler.

And, oh yeah, I almost forgot Crazy Legs Hirsch.

How can anybody forget about ole Crazy Legs. I believe that is the ultimate nickname in football.
