No way is he better than Skelton or Kolb. Maybe as injury prone as Kolb, but not better.
He won more games here, his first two seasons with less starts than Kurt Warner did. I personally believe he couldn't handle the relationship he had with Whisenhunt. Quarterbacks can be very strange between the ears. I personally don't believe he was a good mix with Whisenhunt. The guy seemed to get progressively worse with the obvious lack of support and confidence from his head coach that I personally believe was personality driven and not performance-based. I base that opinion by the fact he was told he had earned the job and had done everything he was asked and all reports were he was ready to lead the team to only get 27 pass attempts in four games and shown the door. Whisenhunt never liked him and was never going to let him start for this team. Not to mention we had to learn a new way of evaluating quarterbacks besides performance. We learned, moxie and swagger were more important.
As far as Kolb is concerned he might and I say again he might have more talent but it doesn't matter he doesn't have the guts to stand there and face a pass rush. Whatever Matt Leinart was he wasn't scared and that alone makes him a better quarterback than Kolb.
As far as John Skelton is concerned I believe he has potential to grow into a better quarterback but he certainly wasn't a better one at the time and still isn't a better one today. John Skelton has proven he can handle the pressure but his accuracy is so erratic until proven otherwise he is not a viable option. Accuracy can be improved over time but his accuracy is so poor and so erratic I'm not sure how you can make the claim he's better than Matt.
The fact remains no one since Kurt Warner has retired has even come close as bad as people may say Matt Leinart was to playing even at he's level. It really isn't really a compliment to Matt, as it is a glaring obvious lack of any production we've seen from the garbage play we have had a quarterback. There's a reason after paying what we did for Kolb were trying to bring in Peyton Manning and it isn't because Kolb and Skelton have shown there the answer anytime soon.
