From the "what could have been" file...Snot... No, not the green/yellow/clear nasal discharge, but the band from Santa Barbara that was headed/destined for greatness until they encountered disastrous fate that was beyond their control....
Snot immediately emerged on the scene with their 1997 debut album "Get Some", which pretty much was hardcore metal at its best....They even managed to secure a spot on 1998's "Ozzfest" and were definitely a lot more talented than Limp Bizkit and would have probably exceeded Korn/Staind in terms of impact on the music world....Tragedy immediately struck in Dec of '98 when, Lynn Strait, their extremely dynamic lead singer (and his dog, Dobbs who appeared on some of their tracks and album cover) both died in a head-on automobile collision....
If you've never heard their album before....Here it is....
"Snot"
"Stoopid"
"Joy Ride"
"The Box"
"Snooze Button"
"313"
"Get Some"
"Deadfall"
"I Jus' Lie"
"Get Some o' Deez"
"Unplugged"
"Tecato"
"Mr. Brett"
"Get Some Keez"
"My Balls"
Definitely worthwhile checking-out.... Several of Strait's "peers" were impacted by his untimely death that they released a tribute album "Strait Up", the most compelling track was Sevendust's "Angel's Son"...
Yes, again it is a matter of "what if", but Snot's legacy (even though their career was abruptly cut short) should live on forever....
