Jurecki just confirmed it too.

No savings this year, big savings next year.

Big savings on next years cap. Next season when we free up the dead money we have on the cap this year, we'll be looking very good on next years cap.

Yeah, maybe, but we also only have 40 players under contract.

Didn't see this coming.

And again the question is why? Why not wait until camp? Is the savings any more cutting him now than in January of 2014 or August of 2013?

It doesn't even free up any cap space this year does it?

I read that is frees up 250K this year, but there is no hit next year now. If we had cut him in 2014, then we take a hit next season. Also, don't forget, the 53rd man on the roster will also be much less, so it could save more.

You save all of his accelerated signing bonus if you cut him now than if you cut him after the 2013 season. That's why you would consider cutting him now instead of after the year.

As for taking him to camp, it's a pretty big gamble that he's not going to get hurt and be impossible to cut in camp. With the money he's making, there's really no chance him agreeing to an injury settlement, and he played all of 2012 hurt.

I think the thought process is that he's not a scheme fit any longer, and he's not much of an upgrade over Chilo Rachal.

:clapping:Never should have been signed for that kind of money in the first place.

I, like many people here, didn't like the Snyder signing from the start. Sometimes it sucks to be right. The guy made about $6 million for one season of below average play.

They were just saying that this signing was one of the last straws for Bidwill to fire Whiz. That along with us not going after Russell Wilson in the draft.

Can't agree with letting DC go unless they really like Rachal. In effect three out of four guards would be rookies. Since Kelemete falls into that category, or close to it, based on PT.

Cooper is already a big upgrade on College. Warford is on Snyder as well, imo. Kelemete will battle him for RG.

Just in case you've never seen him play, Rachal is worse than Snyder & Colledge...why we signed this clown is beyond belief.

This also says (at least for now) that we trust Sendlein & Wedige at C, unless they plan to put Coop at C and a combination of Colledge, Kelemete, Rachal, and Watford at G.

Ideally I'd like to see:

LT - Brown, Potter
LG - Cooper, Kelemete/Potter
C - Sendlein, Wedige
RG - Watford, Rachal/Kelemete
RT - Massie, Rachal

That's 9 right there assuming we cut Colledge too. Already out Snyder and Warren

A lot of teams missed on Wilson though. Makes me wonder though if by mentioning it there was conversation around it with Wiz being against drafting him.
