I SWEAR if we don't Curry or Randolph in the deal I am going to LOSE IT COMPLETELY...

Kerr needs to say SCREW YOU the deal is off if we don't get Randolph..

I have a suspician that won't be the case and we will get Biedrins, Wright and Belleneli for Amare, and I will throw up...

I am pretty sick right now... I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEND, THATS THE SAD THING...

If it's Biedrins, Wright, Randolph, and a 2010 pick, I'm still okay with that.

That's a dream.

We are talking about a one-year rental of Amare Stoudemire. I know that the GSW won't trade for him unless he signs an extension but what Suns give in the deal is a one-year rental of Amare and the better chance of signing him for long-term. No more.

GSW will not trade Randolph.

Biedrins, Wright and 2010 pick is an excellent offer for Amare. Amare's value will decrease day by day to 19th of 2010 when it will be almost zero.

So now we are content with Randolph?!!!

This is just sad.....how bout we pony up and just pay and keep our all-star PF.

He didnt play weel with Shaq and in Porter's system. BOTH ARE GONE NOW SO WHY ARE WE TRADING HIM?!!!

Money. Thats why. I said the writing was on the wall after the JJ fiasco. And the Bryan Colangelo fiasco. And the Kurt Thomas fiasco. And after selling all the picks etc.

Between this board and ESPN Ive been reading your posts for four to five years now.

I dont think Ive ever seen you blame the organization for anything.

are you kidding me? i hate sarver. do you remember how i was basically the only one pushing to keep JJ instead of marion? I will say that i dont think any of this is kerrs fault really. he gets his orders from the top plain and simple. hes sarvers puppet. i really think he wants to get the team in the right direction but honestly what can he do other than follow orders and stay within the scope of what sarver wants him to.

We had only two trade pieces... one is already in Cleveland and we got nothing in return. Wow. If Kerr and Sarver take the deal, we can kiss the next three years goodbye.

Too bad Sarver is now using the Suns franchise as his sole revenue source. At least it appears that way. (if you can't increase revenue, then decrease expenses.)

Exactly.

Clark is a Randolph-clone. I'm not saying Clark is as good or will be as Randolph but they are quite similar in body and playing style.

I'm not sure why that matters? Randolph had a great year once he got a chance and he's only 19. If Clark pans out, worst case he's trade bait for another piece. Their in rebuild mode, take the best available even if you only plan to shuffle them elsewhere later.

Randolph is one of the most promising young players in the league right now. The guy averaged about 14 points and over 11 rebounds in the last 10 games of the season and is still 19 years old. I think you are complaining just to complain now. Biedrins (23), Randolph (19), Belinelli (23), and Wright (21) would be GREAT young value for Amare IMO.

Can someone PLEASE give me a realistic scenario of what they should do in this situation. Tell me a realistic deal that involves trading Amare that meets your expectations.

I have to disagree. You already conceded the Shaq decision. How about the Porter hiring? Now trading Shaq for a "protected" 2nd round pick in 2010. I don't think Sarver the "Carver" was involved in the negotiations for Amare. He's had his share in this mess, even though it did start before he got here. I would hope that he would find his pair and tell Sarver to let him do his job or leave.

I'm not complaining. I simply asked a question. I have no problem having two 6'10" guys with skills...especially if one of the best 6'10" guys in the league is on his way out.

:)I've said all along that I'd rather not trade him. Shaq and Nash were the two guys that i felt should go. I agree that shopping him is a good thing...see what we can get, I'd just prefer to hang on to him if the deal isn't a slam dunk no brainer in our favor. IMO this GS deal....without Curry, any draft picks, a Randolph or Azubuike thrown in, I'm not doin it. I'd even prefer Turief over Beidrins but thats just me.
Nash on the other hand , I'd take the first best offer and move on(like we did with Shaq).
Why? Age.

Hold on. You'd really take Turief over Biedrins? Really? Um you lost me.

I like them both. Thing is i'm not assembling a team built to run in my universe. Beidrins is overrated as a defender....he's a good rebounder but Turief can bang, defend and block shots.
Thats all i'm saying.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I hope we find a way to make the Golden State trade work. We agreed to the trade before we knew Curry would be there, which means the front office really likes the other pieces. With Stephen Jackson starting at the 3 (according to Don Nelson) and Morrow and Maggette, maybe they'd be willing to add Azubuike and a future pick (and if they took back Alando Tucker, the money would be almost identical). Azubuike/Biedrins/Wright/Belinelli is still a lot of young talent for a player we're losing in a year if we don't move him, and a trade I think the Suns would regret not making.

That said, I think the Warriors are stupid for keeping Curry. If they can move him and spare parts for an athletic 4 (i.e. Amare) they can put a pretty amazing starting 5 together. As it is, it will be four really good jump shooters who play no defense and a center Don Nelson can't stand on the court all the time, and it will make for great entertainment and maybe a trip to the playoffs, but there's no way they'll be a great team. I can't believe Monta Ellis isn't ticked off about the decision to keep Curry. Maybe there's a chance they'll change their mind and agree to move Curry, but even if they don't, I hope we put together a deal anyway if they'll add another good young player.

(remember they had the Wests best record at the time of the Shaq trade)

No they didn't. They had the 4th best record in the West and were something like 1-12 against Western playoff teams.

Obviously the end of the Suns as a contending team or even a team people took seriously was when JJones, KT and 3 firsts were traded for nothing. Many didn't want to believe it and the ones who did were told how unimportant those pieces were as long as the "core" remained. If you see a team that was so close to a championship making those types of moves you know you can have your way with them in any negotiations.

Actually, they got an even better trading piece. The possibilities for improving the team by trading Ben Wallace are almost limitless, and that will get more true as the season progresses (unless they buy him out first).

i psyched myself that this trade was going down, and it still may be. I'll take Randolph or Curry along with Biedrins and Wright. dont even have to have Belinelli. without either of these two, the trade better not happen. Let the fervor of the draft die down a bit and Golden State may change their tune a bit. :grabs::beer:

Screw the Warriors! If I were Kerr, I would offer Amare for Biedrins, Randolph, AND Curry. Anything short of that, they shouldn't bother calling.

It does make you curious just how badly the Warriors lied to the Suns / reneged on the deal. Was it wishful thinking on our part? Or was there really an agreement, and then the Warriors went back on their word?

100% agree. %@&$ 'em. They reneged on the agreement, though it's their right, they either come back with something equal, better or don't come back.

I know Don Nelson is saying Curry isn't going anywhere, but when the GM was asked about reports that Curry was part of a trade. He said,
I'm operating as though Stephen Curry is a Golden State Warrior. We're in contact with a lot of teams and have been throughout this draft. We've been extremely busy and at this stage I'll have no comment on potential trades or anything that involves movement in the future. I will tell you that we would seek to improve our ballclub throughout this summer by whatever means.

That's not exactly a commitment to Curry not being traded. We'll see what pans out.
