In a van...down by the river.
According to multiple sources, most of them from the bay area, the Deal is officially DEAD... HOWEVER Paul Coro denies this saying they are not dead.. YET

Apparently the Suns gave GS an Ultimatium of Curry or Randolph, and when they said neither the Suns Walked away...

I guess this is good news...
Definately. IMO getting low end returns for Shaq/Nash is to be expected. SUNS should be patient with dealing Amare.

It doesn't surprise me the Suns did not have this trade package wrapped up tight with a firm verbal agreement.
In all actuality, they may have had a firm verbal agreement. The problem is that verbal agreements are not binding and the Warriors simply changed their mind and backed away from it.

If it weren't for Biedrens' contract situation, this deal would have been consumated before the draft and we would have picked Curry ourselves.

Some of you need to settle down. It's not the Suns that reneged on the deal, it was the Warriors. Yeah, they should have gotten something in writing, but come on--the deal was set with an ok from both parties and one of them decided to change their mind. It's no wonder we gave them the Curry or Randolph ultimatum. The deal hasn't been made as of now, so no need to start tying the noose.

I don't blame the Sun's for GS flip flopping. However, that doesn't mean the Suns should then in return run off and make a bad trade which is what the GS trade would be without Curry or Randolph.

And they haven't done that, so I'm not sure why you're so upset.

Why? Because it goes to show you how much this new front office is regarded in the NBA. Do you honestly see the old FO making this many boneheaded moves that it damages the reputation of the organization? Also, teams think they offer crap for our players and nothing in return?

Every FO makes mistakes but something tells me GS would never had backed out of deal if JC/BC were still involved. Jerry had alot of respect in NBA circles. Case and point in the past I remember JC doing an interview and was talking about the entire issue of being black balled in the NBA. He felt that the "tenured" owners tend to stick together and if some team did something that wasn't "honorable", that team would have a long road ahead of it.

Clearly, Sarver/Kerr combo are being treated like a bunch of rookies with no clout. Add to it the horrible decisions this FO has made as of late and you wonder why this team is having so many problems dealing with other teams.

Because their track record indicates there is a strong possiblity they do make a bad trade in desperation.

But they haven't. It's like me reporting you to the mods for a personal attack you're going to make later.

Life's too short to live it with such negativity. Wait until they actually make a bad move, before chastising them before they make one. I mean, come on. It's pretty ridiculous.

Majority of discussion on a message board is speculation and the most recent speculation is based on the Suns track record of making bad, desperate trades. If I had a history of personally attacking you your analogy would make more sense.

I'd rather face and discuss the reality of the situation than delude myself that everything is going turn out great given the recent history of the team. I remember the same arguments 2 years ago when after draft night it was apparent the Suns were going to lose KT and future picks for cash after failing to parlay it into a better pick.

I honestly believe that even Sarver/Kerr must know that if they trade Amare they have to get more than role players and a possible starter but it certainly is a possibility.

I didn't mean to imply you are going to make a personal attack, it was just an example that would apply to this specific board.

But I hear you about the reality, and right now the reality of the situation is that Amare Stoudemire is a Phoenix Sun. And we knew we'd get crap from Cleveland for Shaq, I don't know why anyone is surprised by that.

Chap, your logic and reasoning does not belong on ASFN. I suggest you stop posting here. :)

But I definitely agree with you. No sense in going nuts over something that can't even happen yet.

Well we do know something that has happened GS is fracking with the Suns at this point because obviously the FO has no clout. That has happened.
