I repeat - base year contract. The problem is that the other team has to recognize the entire salary but the Suns only get credit for half of it. This means that somehow there has to be a team with cap space involved in the deal. Finding such a trading partner is all but impossible.

I would not be shocked if they worked to move him in 2008, but right now the Suns are going to work on helping him get better. There is simply no plausible scenrio for a move this summer.

Exactly what I think!

There are some Trade Diaw posts all over this forum. But I am still waiting for a serious trade scenario involving Diaw. I think he must stay there. He is smart, he is a competitor I believe he will figure out how to improve.

diaw gets traded for an n productive player then amare gets injured?

It took JJ three years to really shine--maybe it's just a matter of time. Have there been any stories on how much emphasis they are putting on drills with him attacking the basket? That's where I've been surprised to see little change, whether Amare is in or out.

I don't think Boris is 100% recovered from his back problems and I fear it hurt his conditioning as well.

In any case, he's capable of being an exceptional player and there is no chance they will give up on him for at least a while.
