Well with the way SF is wining and dining Kurt and the money they are throwing around (not to mention the God connection with Mike Singletary) it would seem like Kurt is a goner. He wants to feel wanted and SF is pulling out all the stops. More power to him.

For all of those who love Boldin. I would say this ensures he is re-upped giving Matty all the weapons he will need to succeed and also because of the negative PR this is going bring with Kurt leaving.

I for one am excited. Time will tell if that excitement is misplaced.

It started three years ago, in my mind. I hope he learned a lot about reading defenses and getting rid of the ball quick from Kurt. Our schedule is a bitch next year, we have to score as well as we did this year.

Here.

I was ready before the KW rollercoaster began.

Thank you for what you did last year, but be gone.

I am, BUT the Cards really need to find a very solid 2nd stringer due to Leinarts injury history.

I am.

I have already prepared myself mentally since last week.

Whether succeed or fail, we need to find out what we have in Matt. I think he will do fine.

I would think that Boldin would probably be traded if Warner signs with SF.

Based on what? His performance in college? The fact that he was a top 10 pick? I mean, he's done some good things, but he's also had many bad moments in the NFL. Two years ago when handed the job there were many games that Leinart started and struggled horribly, only to have Warner come in and toss the rock all over the field. It's a little late to pull the "well they were down and were forced to pass" argument when he just led the CARDINALS TO A SUPER BOWL. At best, you can hope for an above average game manager out of Matt these days. I wonder who Fitz would prefer to be starting QB?

Be careful what you wish for...I predict if Warner goes to SF, it'll be the Niners with the NFC west crown next year, and a lot of people wishing we had Kurt around for another 2.

No matter what happens though, it's going to be hard to duplicate last year's success. Matt will now always be judged by how far he takes us in the playoffs, which isn't entirely fair, but it is what it is.

I will take that bet.

How is it not fair? You have option A, who has already taken us to the Super Bowl, and option B, who hasn't proven anything as an NFL starter. If you choose option B, you better be damn sure that your moves will bring you back, or you should be subject to that criticism because the bar has been raised.

People can blame Kurt as much as they want, but Graves' lack of foresight has been a disastrous gamble. If approached before the season, or even during the season with a reasonable offer, Kurt would be locked up, and we would be worrying about other issues. Now neck deep into FA, and absolutely nothing has been resolved. Cue snail pic...

Is it entirely fair that Rodgers will always be compared to Favre?

Note the word entirely. I agree that some criticism will be warranted, some won't be. Different teams, different times, etc. The schedule could not have worked out any better for us going down the stretch. We had teams that underestimated us the entire way. That won't happen with Matt next year. I could go on, (will try to) but I've got to get back to moderating.

100% agree.

In a perfect world, it would be Leinart who took us to the Super Bowl and we are having to re-sign but it's a guy who is 37. There is no way we make the Super Bowl last year with Leinart as the starter and I don't believe we would this year either.

It's funny how fickle these fans are...

You act like we are the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Dallas Cowboys...like winning has been easy and this franchise just plugs someone else in and keeps on trucking. How soon we forget what Kurt Warner (and Whis and Fitz and more) have done for this franchise.

If this team had confidence that Leinart could be the man right now...they wouldn't be willing to pay Kurt anything near what they are offering. Think about it.

Anyone...ANYONE that talks badly about the organization to the media goes way down on the respect-o-meter. That goes for Boldin and Warner.

I would think if Kurt were to leave, Boldin should become more of a priority. I think the more top flight options we have the easier the transition to Matt. Not to mention Boldin is a hell of a blocker when motivated. I think Kurt's success was just as much a product of who he was trowing to as it was his ability. Hopefully Matt has learned to put the ball where it needs to be. Even Kurt had to learn to throw the ball even if Fitz's looked covered.
