Just curious... Personally, I continue to believe Beanie is a farce. A frustrating, hulking figure who can be taken down with a pinky tackle. I fear we may have actually seen the best he can ever deliver... which is incredibly disappointing to say the least.
Of course, Ryan Williams had so much promise pre-injury... He now has a TON to prove. Can he really get back, even close, to what he was or what he might have been pre-injury? And, can he hold onto the football??

LSH is certainly not an everyday down back... and, what remains incredibly frustrating to me is that our offense still can't get him the amount of touches he should be getting. He's a playmaker, yet, he rarely gets the chance to make a play...

I wonder about a guy like William Powell... Would really, really love to see him get his shot. But, that would mean benching Beanie or Williams, which ain't gonna happen...

So, with all that.... who really is our best RB???

William Powell. But since he wasn't an option I voted for LSH because he's small enough to squeeze through the microscopic holes our offensive line creates.

Beanie continues to get punked by Whis...the dude played hurt the entirety of last season, gained over 1K YRDS AND TEN TDs, yet he makes him split sparse carries, leaves him out in goal line situations, and pulls him in crunch time for a fumble prone rookie.

Beanie needs more carries to get into his rythm to wear down defenses... Beanie is going to bolt once his contract is up and will become a PB RB...

While I agree he should get bulk of carries right now. But he is just too fragile. Whis knows this. It's a long season. He needs his carries limited unfortunately.due to being so fragile he will never be a PBer.

William Powell. Missing the first two games has forced me to revise my preseason prediction of 2500 yards down to 2076 for him. Hopefully Whis gets a clue and gets him the start this week.

3rd and short- goalline- can't make the play from the bench. no back in the backfield - LSH came from the WR slot to the backfield once- He 's 5 ' 8" 180 soaking wet. Yea I don't see another offense doing that everytime. But we tricked them with a TD last week, and Kolb this week.

I think Beanie is primary weapon not an after thought - I mean he was targeted 1 time as an outlet and made 24 yards on the reception, lined out wide- so did LSH. It makes me sick every week.

14 carries 44 yards but whenever beanie leaves the offense which is most the damned time- defense sigh in relief because we are one dimensional. Sorry Everybody cheer all they want but Rwill is the the 2nd coming of THT as a rookie- without the 10 TD's finishing what Edge started.

Yea we ran more than we passed that is why we won and had less turnovers by not forcing the pass. but Really 10 for 13 yards for Rwill - including the 13 yard run at the end of game. We had 8 rushing first downs and 7 by the pass!

I think Beanie set the tone physically by starting the game- But never got the chance to finish - pulled on 3rd and short- He gets stronger as he wear down a defense- He would break their hearts in the 2nd half- If his number was called more than 14 times even against a good defense.

Kolb had 140 yards passing mind you. Lets put the pressure on the young RWILL at the end of the game! the first half was played fundemently correct starting Beanie - with the exception of emptying the backfield on 3rd and short- and it worked out pretty well for the Cardinals and their fans.

Right now Beanie Wells.
He needs to pick up his feet and not get tripped up so much.

Since they are both coming back from surgery I understand splitting time in the first half of the season. Williams will be an important contributor this season but he still has work to do. He needs to commit and not try to change his momentum so much.

Tough call. As much as i hate to admit it, neither of these backs are great. I thought ryan williams was, but he doesnt have the explosiveness anymore. If Beanie could just regain and keep his balance hed have some huge runs.

Without seeing Powell get some PT, id say Beanie at this point.

I was actually thinking about PP at RB today. Isnt he over 200lbs? Lol. I dont see why he wouldnt be a stud. Hes got the size, and he runs, what, a 4.3?

Beanie.
He's the least suckiest at the moment, but to be fair to all the RBs the line isn't exactly blocking at a high standard.

Also the rotation isn't helping any of them get into a grove

I voted for RW and naturally he has to hold onto the ball, but I think that, with time/experience, he'll show us that he's a vg RB. However, Beanie should also improve with time and carries as he and Ryan split the carries, I just think that RW's big play potential will tip the scale in his favor. And, naturally I'm assuming that the OL will improve its run blocking.

It is Beanie by a large margin. I haven't seen anything from Williams that would make me think he is even remotely close to being that good, he may be a great guy who has a good work ethic and wants to exceed but he doesn't seem to have the instincts.

Beanie isn't a big play RB but he is a workhorse type player who needs multiple reps to be effective, he wears down defenses. His big problem is durability, he plays through pain as proven last year but he always seems to have some kind of knock or ding.

There's no doubt that right now, you have to say Beanie Wells.

Ryan Williams has potential, but it's definitely unseen so far this season.

Both players are suffering from a porous offensive line, however, and I'm not sure there's many backs in this league that could be effective behind it. With that also said, the Seahawks are sporting a pretty solid defense, and the Patriots are solid at stopping the run with Wilfork clogging up the middle, so the early failures of our run game might be a product of the opponents. Not to mention, teams are stacking 8 in the box and daring us to throw, putting the ball in Kolb/Skelton's hands. Certainly, it shouldn't be an excuse, as you have to exert your will against the best teams to be considered successful at running the ball, but without Levi Brown, this team's running potential suffers greatly.

I was extremely excited for Beanie last year when I knew he'd have an almost exclusive command of the backfield. Unfortunately, an injury hamstrung what I think could have been more like a 1,200-1,300 yard season, and he ended up just eclipsing the 1K mark. When he splits carries like this, he doesn't get into a rhythm, and he can't bruise up defenders. I hope Williams' fumble problems give Beanie a chance to get some consecutive carries, and not jump in and out of the drive on a whim.

I'm a huge Whiz supporter, but one of his biggest failings has been forcing the two-back system when it doesn't suit his personnel. It appears he wants a Jerome Bettis/Willie Parker dynamic, and the guys in our stable aren't the kinds of backs that have an immediate, one-play impact.

A frequent cop-out answer when asked a question in the Army used to be: "It depends on the terrain."

Likewise - our best running back depends on the circumstances. Accordingly, the best RB having to cope with our run blocking (or lack thereof) may very well be Powell (because of his ability to cut on a dime, power-thru if necessary or adjust on the fly to blocks that are either "not there" or in the wrong place at the wrong time).

I'm comfortable saying Beanie right now because last year he was the closest thing to a feature back we've seen in a long time (just in time for a passing era--but still). Love what LSH brings in multiple dimensions, and have hopes for RW and Powell.

But the thing I worry about with Beanie is (obviously) his health and the overall shelf life of NFL running backs.

I voted for Beanie, and I don't think it's even close.

He seems to be criminally undervalued both on the board and within the organization, but he's by far our most proven running back, despite his flaws. You don't set the franchise record for rushing yards in a game by accident. Yet he's still pulled at the end of a crucial road game for a guy who has fewer than 20 career carries. I know the coaching staff loves Ryan Williams as a person, but they need to be careful about making him earn his minutes like they did with Beanie.

I thought he impressed on special teams in the preseason? Bench Dray and play him. I didn't expect Dray to even be on the roster...

the big issue with him is his durability. He plays through all his injuries like a true badass, but how long can he keep getting hurt before his body tells him to **** off...

Its Beanie, and its not close.

Beanie gets so much heat for being injured all the time, but that dude gets 4-5 yards every time he touches the ball.

Are you talking about the Beanie Wells who plays for the Arizona Cardinals??

2009 = 4.5 YPC
2010 = 3.4 YPC
2011 = 4.3 YPC
2012 = 2.8 YPC

6'2", 230 pounds and your pinky can take him down... ;)

2012 doesnt count yet, hes been banged up and the O line cant block.

4.3, close enough. I round up.

Right now it's clearly Beanie, IMO. I don't see how there can be an argument for RW at this point in time.

That said, I really do expect him to become the better back--there's clearly going to be a learning curve, though.

Two in particular -- Arizona's Beanie Wells and Seattle's Marshawn Lynch -- have racked up yardage after contact. Both rank among the NFL's top four in total yards after contact. And among those players with at least 1,000 yards, Wells and Lynch rank high in percentage of yards gained after contact (see chart, courtesy of ESPN Stats & Information).
