It has to get better and they are in this spot because that have chosen to not make dynamic moves, and not enough moves in general. Now the seat should get a little hot because they need to win games instead of trying to play 4-D chess while under the thumb if one of the worst owners in the NFL.
I don't know how closely you follow the NBA and/or Philly sports, but the whole thing with The Process is that the results were ALWAYS just around the corner, and the 76ers were always right on the cusp of consistent, prolonged, championship contention.

PA went through it; I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks that Sam Hinkie just didn't get quite enough time for his vision to blossom.

The challenge with the NFL is that most veteran non-QB contracts are effectively three-year deals; rookie contracts are four-year deals. There's no "slow build to sustained success" because Garrett Williams is two years away from free agency.

I know you don't like this answer, but there aren't many better QB options this upcoming season. I don't say that because I am interested in watching more Kyler, but just having looked at what is out there in terms of FA and the draft.
I disagree, at least in relation to utilizing and developing MHJ. KM can't do so. That's painfully obvious. Another QB might not significantly upgrade the position but can at least provide adequate service to a talented young WR.

Dynamic moves?? The dynamic moves were made when they hired MOJG and COMMITTED to the PROCESS of sustainable success. The plan was never to be a legit playoff team in year 2 of a COMPLETE REBUILD. The plan is to stay the course, continue to draft with a scouting team that emphasizes certain positions over other positions, and develop, develop, develop. This WAS the plan, and this will remain the plan. The team has made some very nice advances, but isn’t talented enough to get to the next level just yet. We are in the middle of a major & complete rebuild. We’re not in the beginning, and we’re certainly not in the latter stages yet. Now, you have to stay the course. You’re driving yourself crazy to think we have somehow failed this year. No matter how we got there 7-8 at this stage was always the goal. MOJG have a much better idea now as to what talent they may or may not currently have. We don’t have as many draft picks this year, so I fully expect them to be more active with their free agency money. Not stupid active, but active just the same. And I expect the players they’ve drafted the last 2 years, to make continued progress, especially the guys moving from year 1 to year 2.
I did not sign up to improve by 3 games in 2 years.

Going to push back on this a bit. You are demonstrating shockingly low expectations from our front office.

Texans hired Demeco Ryans in 2023, same year as we hired Gannon. Texans went 10-7 in year 1 with a rookie QB, and are poised to have back to back 10 win seasons.

Broncos hired Sean Payton in 2023. Year 2 they are 9-6, borderline playoff team with a rookie QB.

Shane Steichan was hired in 2023. Rookie QB. He is currently a .500 HC.

Dan Quinn hired in 2024. Year 1 and with a rookie QB...

Raheem Morris hired in 2024. Year 1...8-7.

Michael McDonald hired in 2024. Year 1...8-7 with Geno Smith.

Jim Harbaugh hired in 2024. Year 1...9-6.

I hate to write this but Gannon's win % in on par with Brian Daboll and Antonio Pierce. Our timelines follows that of the Panthers, Bears, Jets, and Giants. The bottom of the barrel NFL franchises right now. To excuse what this regime (and I put it mostly on Monti) has produced in their 1st two years is laughable. It has to get better and they are in this spot because that have chosen to not make dynamic moves, and not enough moves in general. Now the seat should get a little hot because they need to win games instead of trying to play 4-D chess while under the thumb if one of the worst owners in the NFL.
You obviously don’t understand the point being made. None of the teams you mentioned made sustainable success the goal & none of them gutted their rosters like the Cardinals did in order to rebuild in a manner that would attain sustainable success. The Texans last year played the easiest schedule any NFL team may have ever seen. This have regressed this year, as has their 2nd year QB. The rest of those teams have taken the same approach that Steve Keim took while here. Keep an eye on those teams. None of them will have sustainable success.

The Cardinals really don’t give a crap what you signed up for. MOJG was very clear what they meant by developing sustainable success. And that’s what we’re getting. If you don’t have the patience, then go root for the Chiefs for another year or two.

But why though? Is it the system, the coaches, the talent around him, or all of the above? I don't think Darnold would look like he does playing for the Cards or many other teams.

I think Kevin O'Connell is really good with QB's and they have a really good offense with excellent receivers. Long term I like Marv but right now I'd take Jordan Addison over Marv this season, he's a better player. Career, I'll take Marv.

I also said this before, I have a hunch that his one year in SF backing up there probably changed his career trajectory because he played for a really good coach. He didn't play but he spent the year there

This is the same Steve Keim, who you used to support to the death and ludicrously bash anyone who dared criticize him, right?

You were clueless then and I fear you’re even more clueless now.

Well if you expect the Lion's jump here are the required ingredients. Invest 3 1st round picks into the OL (2 OTs and a center), then trade Kyler for 2 1st rounders, a 3rd, AND a starting caliber QB.

Blathering about sustainable success before there's any, you know, success is funny. You have no idea if this slow build is going to work. Riddle me this: When our good players become FA before we're in the playoffs and we have to replace them in a slow, conservative "build," what then?
