Jax is going to die. He's planning on it.

Spoilers! lol Yeah, you can tell.

He's setting his kids up to be taken care of, and setting his club up to be taken care of by letting himself be taken out. Only through death, it seems, will he get his boys out of the lifestyle.

Sets up a neat Nero/Wendy hookup post-show, too.

I don't know this from any special info, it's just a guess so I don't think that it's a spoiler but I will respect that.
All that but the big tell for me how he told Chibs not to worry about what happened at the table, he would take care of it. Almost like he would die and they would never find out what happened there.

I thought the ending was perfect.
The one thing I want most out of a series finale is for it to move me. In watching the final sequence with the song and everything I felt moved.

Well done. FX made up for their horrible ending to Rescue me with this one. The Sheild is still the best series finale ever.

The ending was far from perfect. Not horrible but not great either:

I thought Jax went out like a bitch. And in the process brought turmoil onto another innocent person.

Man, that was intense. I loved the imagery and references, which I'll list in spoilers. And the Shakespeare reference? Well done, FX and Sons. Well done.

The Christ imagery, its tie in to Jax sacrificing himself for his family, friends and club, was brilliant. Especially given that he was a good guy, but not a good guy.

He's far from a good guy. He even said so himself. While his love for his family is admirable, he is beyond reprehensible. He started off good wanting the club to go in a different direction but not only did he continue Clay's descent into madness, he did it at light speed and in the end, he was worse than Clay. Jax has a lot of innocent blood on his hands(not as much as Gemma but a lot). And in his final act, he potentially screws up another innocent life(incidentally, someone mentioned The Shield, the irony here is that Michael Chiklis was the driver of the truck).

NJ, you missed my point. He's a good guy in that he tries to do the right things, tries to analyze his life and get to that good place. Yet the road to hell is paved with good intentions, which means he isn't a good guy. I tried to reflect the difference with italics--it didn't work :)

I agree with you if we're talking about the first few seasons before he took over as club president but as soon as he did that, the good in him was gone. He stopped being about his family and started being about himself and the club. He said as much at the end when talking to his father's marker on the rock. In the beginning he wanted to steer the club in a different direction than where Clay was taking them but in the end he ended up being worse than Clay. As for his family, he had several opportunities to send Tara away with the boys but he never delivered and in the end his decisions ended up costing Tara her life and nearly his son's sanity.
