That is a good point. We WERE disciplined in game 2 and were out of control today along with refs being out of control as well.

Exactly. Our guys just need to learn to play their game. Don't get caught up in crap. San Antonio has been trying to get into their heads since game one. They just have to forget the refs, forget the Spurs and play THEIR game.

Could one of those reasons possibly be that they are not built to win a Championship? They don't have the personnel to get past the Western Conference Finals?

Here you go again talking like you have any clue about who is built to win. You know NOTHING about how to build a team, and I mean nothing, and you're pretty much a disgrace to have on our side as a fan, go find yourself a Spurs board and join thei bandwagon, they'll welcome you with open arms you fool.

How come? How do they need to be built to go past the Western conference?

At the risk of further firing up Cheeseball... I'll say again, they need a defensive answer for Duncan. They need to be able to get "the" stop when it's needed most. And they need to be able to execute in the half court on a consistent basis.
Trying to outrun the other team, to outscore the other versus first stopping the other team, is not a team that's built for Championships... You can't rely on superior shooting as your only weapon in the post season. You have to be able to outrebound a team, or at leat keep the rebounding totals competitive...
When you don't do this or can't do this, you end up with a team like the Suns - who are a blast to watch, but get schooled when it matters most...
I hope I'm wrong... but history suggests otherwise...

I don't mean people like you Gee, as I have read many of your posts and agree with much of what you say, as you don't sit their and act like you know more than the guys running the team. It's a few of the others who sit and say D'Antoni doesn't know what he's doing, or the players are diots or something to that nature. The fact is they are there for a reason, and we are all sitting here as fans for a reason.

No one can completely stop Duncan, no one! We do have someone to man up Duncan, KT and Amare to some extent. And we can play in half court and we have shown that we can play AND win in half court. Rebounding I agree. We have big guys but don't box out well enough. Today we gave up another 11 or so offensive boards. That has been a problem for this team.

This series is over, the Suns cannot beat the Spurs 3 out of 4. It's not going to happen, lights out

The Suns are going to win the next game in San Antonio, then they are going to come home and win in Phoenix, then win one of the remaining two (probably game 7 in Phoenix) and we'll all say what a great series it was.

I never said I know how to build this team, it's the tool 82CardsGrad who is sitting their saying he knows how to build this team. I said I;m sitting here as a fan just like every single other person on this board, and the Suns have gotten this far 3 straight years and continue to be one of the best, obviously they know what they are doing and doing it right. Just so happens that there are other good teams in the league as well.

Duncan is averaging 31 points and 12 or more Rebounds against us... "man up"?? KT is doing as good of a job as he possibly can. But if you are relying on KT to slow down Duncan, well....
But nice to see you admit the issue with rebounding... If you see that as a "problem", why then do you have such a hard time with the notion that this team isn't constructed in Championship form??

82, Get your lazy ass up then, give the Suns a call this offseason, and tell them what they need to do. Obviously you know everything about how to construct a championship team, and they are missing that piece of information. Otherwise, shut the hell up already.

You're a crack up dude...

I have stated time and again that the Suns are fun to watch. They produce 60 plus W's each season! But is there a Championship banner hanging at US Airways Arena?? "Doing it right"??? Well, where I come from, "doing it right" means winning a Championship...

Becuase it is not the "construction" of the team. The abilities are there. The players are there. So your point is not valid.

Only 1 team can win each year. 2 years ago, I do not believe they were up to the task, and lost to the Spurs. Last year, they were missing very impotant pieces, and don't try and say the Heat were built to win any more than the Suns are, because they were far from it as they showed this year, but look, they just so happened to find ways to win. I believe they are built to win this year, and losing 2 games with terrible officiating and some bad breaks doesnt take away from that. It's about finding ways to win with whatever you got, and in this case the most talented team, and you will most likely soon eat your words you closet Spurs fan.

And your sitting there taking your frustration out on a Suns fan.. He takes it out on the team, you on a Suns fan.. Thats my beef with your words..

the main reason they have gotten to this point 3 years in a row is because they can beat teams in the regular season and get a good seed, and then beat weak teams in the first round like the lakers. they got to the WCF last year because they got matched up in the 2nd round against the lower of the 2 seeds that they could have played ( as if denver would have won this year) and even then they barely won. then in the WCF they got beat by a good team. they lost in game 17 when they had a 17 point lead because of the style they play, which is now in definite question around the basketball community because of its failure to work on veteran/championship quality teams. the suns success in the reg. season deceives a lot of fans into thinking that the suns are a legit championship team even though they arent.

I'm glad the Red Sox did not think it was over against the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS. For those who were Sun fans will remember when they were up three games to one and two games to zero to Houston, only to see them lose both series.

If the Suns can win game four on Monday, it's a best of three with two games being played in Phoenix. Monday's game is the biggest of the year.

I take it out on him because he sits and acts like he has all the answers and it's completely ridiculous to have to read. I've taken it out on the refs, bad play enough, but this guy acting like he has all the answers and doesn't act much like an actual fan is just ********. He sits in font of the tv or in the stands just like the rest of us and really knows very little of how to construct a team.

Duncan will have a big game either way. If I were coaching the Suns, I would let KT battle Duncan one on one. Make Duncan beat you.

When you double him, you risk Manu or Parker going off as well.
I would rather Duncan have 40 points while keeping Manu and Parker in single digits than having all 3 of them explode for 20+ points.

Ok then... SHould the Suns get beat-down again by the Spurs, will blame then rest with the coaching?? Should D'Antoni be let go??
I don't see it that way... I think if the Suns can find a way to add one more Big Guy who can actually play tough defense and grab boards, someone who can allow Amare to dominate as a Power Forward while the other Big Guy is slowing down Duncan and cleaning the boards, we would be one step closer...
Also, as much as I like the guy, I just don't see Marion as a guy who will allow a team to consistently execute in the half court... He a high flyer who can sometimes get hot and drain some 3's. But the Suns need a much more effective catch & shoot small forward...

and you do know how to construct a team? reading his posts i dont see anything saying "i know how to construct a championship team, and i all-might posterman have all the answers". he doesnt know how to build a team like the suns and frankly neither does anyone on these boards. that doesnt mean anything. he seems to have more credibility here because he says that its the suns own fault that they didnt win and you are blaming it on the refs. there were questionable calls on both sides as in most games, and the suns couldnt overcome it the way that the spurs did. hands down, the spurs played better.

No, he blames the construction of the team, and in this game, I blame some bad perfomances by the Suns, combined with some terrible calls that changed the dynamic of the game. Blaming the construction of the team for the 2 losses in the series so far is just ludicrus.

let duncan beat you? thats a strategy there. lets LET the greatest power forward in the game (and maybe in history) beat us. it doesnt matter if we LET him or not, hes going to beat us. limiting the other guys is easier said than done. look at how hot they all got in todays game.

Duncan exploded in game 2 as well. But we were able to control Parker and Ginobili. That is the key. You cannot stop everyone completely. Ain't gonna happen. We had a bad game today, kind of out of control coupled with bad officiating. If we had played slightly better defense and offense which we are absolutely capable of, the outcome could have been different even with Duncan's 30 points. So, I believe this team is built correctly with good players and can win in the post season.
