I call B.S. Amare knows Shaq's years there are numbered. He could have a long term run with Lebron. I also don't think it has anything to do with Lebron leaving either. Lebron is not going to leave all that money on the table by leaving the Cavs. Over the course of 6 seaons, the Cavs can pay him 30 MILLION dollars more then any other team.

I don't care what his endorsements look like, I can't see him leaving 30 million on the table.

Having said that, I don't like the Cavs trade scenario. I hope it doesn't happen regardless.

This story was already refuted by a more respected Ohio sportswriter. Amare never said he would not like to play with LBJ and Shaq.

LBJ gets more endorsement money, a lot more, in NY. The little difference in salary as NBA player is peanuts for him. (It's less than 6-7mil over 5 years. )

LOL

He averaged .2 points more last year, but is averaging 1/2 a rebound better this season and last year he didn't have an eyeball almost come out of his face.

We are at the 53 game mark for the season, which is the exact number of games he played last year before the eye surgery.

Wow, he's only half a step short of coming out and requesting a trade to Cleveland. His comment that his defense was better last year is hilarious. Didn't he spend the summer reading Wikipedia articles on leadership? Apparently they didn't quite take.

You know, Amar'e, if your defense and rebounding had improved this year the way you kept promising they would, maybe you would have gotten that maximum extension from the Suns after all. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Again...B.S. 30 Million is not peanuts no matter how much money you make....unless your name is Bill Gates.

Also, Lebron already has his biggest endorsement deals already on the books that will follow him no matter where he goes.

Cleveland might not be amare's first choice. I'm sure he would make it work though. Cleveland would never be my first choice either. They are lucky that they got the hometown boy running their franchise. If not for the akron boy they would be a lower market team because of the location.

Amare WILL get more endorsement money in NY than in Cleveland. That is all but certain.

Can't blame Amare, it might be his last chance at a big paycheck.

Didn't he reveal his knee injury and have microfracture just days after he signed his last big deal? This is what scares me about Amare. If you could say that there is a 90% certainty that he will play at his current level for the next 4 years I'd say give him a max deal. Look around the league and name 5 PFs that are more valuable than Amare right now.

Trouble is most guys that have knee problems go downhill fast, just look at McGrady. I can't think of a single player that had severe knee problems early in their career and didn't completely break down prematurely.

Then again, I don't think there has been anyone that came back from microfracture surgery quite like Amare has. Jason Kidd still played at a high level, but his is a different style of game than Amare. He's not freakishly athletic anymore like he was, but he's a lot better than virtually everybody said he'd be.

If Amare can do what Kidd has done whoever signs him will be getting a great deal. I don't think the Suns have that kind of faith. They offered him a low risk 2 year extension. IMO this was done so they can tell fans they tried but also because they have no faith in Amare being able to stay healthy.

You can't build around a guy that doesn't play. How many games has Amare missed on his current max deal?

Also J Kidd is freakishly strong for a guy with his skill set. IMO Amare has sort of a fragile look for an NBA power Forward. I mean he's ripped but he seems to have a sort of Forest Gump thing going on with his legs.

The league is really lacking in the Powerfoward position, right now. I can only name five that are on the same level as Amare.
1. Chris Bosh
2. Dirk
3. Carlos Boozer
4. Pau Gasol
5. Zac Randolph
That's it....

And it would be hard to make an argument based on talent alone that more than 2 of those guys are really better than Amare. Now if you factor in injuries.....

He had complained about the knee during the playoffs and it was the team that wanted to scope it when the swelling didn't go down. Besides it's not like he hasn't lived up to his contract regardless.

TD? Or are you considering him a center?
