Be cool to have Connery or Brosnan come back as the bad guy. Bad assery at its finest.

Brosnan was solid, but I just never quite totally bought into him because his toughness to suave balance tipped a little too far on the suave side for me.

Elba would be awesome... and it would be fun to watch racists lose their lunch over that casting.

Exactly. He seemed to soft and to me didn't have the spy look. He was still a great bond, I just feel Craig has the spy look and is killing it.

I really really liked it. Really an ode to the older Bond films.

Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). I have to agree a lot with this statement. I liked it a lot, though not nearly as much as Skyfall. After the initial cool factor of the opening sequence, the opening action fell so flat I was afraid my high expectations were about to come crashing down. I mean, that was really poor. The movie really picked up after that for me, though, and I was quite pleased. As Chris said, truly a throwback Bond movie. I'm convinced they went with this tone as a change-of-pace from Skyfall.

The initial scene is awesome. Then comes the worst bond song ever made and I mean it is AWFUL.

I bet if the initial song was better it would have carried you through the first part.

I didnt think when Craig was cast as the new Bond he'd be able to pull off the roll. He is short and didnt fit the mold as the prior Bonds. But after his time as Bond he's become one of my favorites. Maybe because of the writing is much better than the "campy" one liners of the past scripts. Now I really cant or wouldnt want to see anyone else as Bond.

Pierce Bronsnan was also a great Bond and was unfairly dimissed of the role. Bad writing, imo was the cause of his failures not his acting or look.
Other Bronsnan films I enjoyed were The November Man, The Matador, and After the Sunset...although Salma Hayek might be the reason.:D

Long time since I was disappointed in a movie like this. I had such high hopes and was reading everything that came out. All the early reviews made it seem this was the best of them all them I get this.

Now it's good but out of the 4 Craig Bond films it's not as good as Casino Royale and not even in the class of Skyfall.

What makes me mad is it could have been so much better. I just feel they left so much on the table here.

And that's the worst opening song I've ever heard just horrible. I think it's almost a victim of Skyfall being so great

I thought it was okay. Not nearly as good as Royale or Skyfall. That said, the tie that bonds (no pun intended) was beyond idiotic and kinda retroactively craps on everything we've seen thus far.

Really disappointing.

I agree that it wasn't as good as the previous movie, but I liked the idea that this felt like one of the 60s era James Bond movies.

I haven't liked the plot in the last two Bond films but at least Skyfall had a great villain. Casino Royale was the last one I was emotionally invested in. The others were too video game'ish with plot holes and underwhelming female supports.

DC is getting older as well but he still makes a great Bond.

Same. Comparing it to Casino Royale, this one wasn't even close.

It was really long and pretty boring to be honest.

Daniel Craig can't pull off the typical James Bond charme.

The Craig Bond films could be any kind of mainstream thriller. You could label them Mission Impossible and with very few modifications nobody would know if it is a Bond movie or not.

Brosnan was good, the problem was that the scripts were absolutely terrible. Except for one of his movies they all rank near the bottom of all-time Bond movies but it is not because of Brosnan.

Brosnan perfectly fit the James Bond character.

Elba does not at all, it god nothing to do with being racist. Daniel Craig never fit that role either.

I agree about Brosnan. Too bad about the writing in those movies.

Craig absolutely pulls off a perfect Bond, and I think Elba would pull it off too. In the books, Bond was cold and distant, with some charm, and normally had to take a hell of a beating before winning.

Brosnan was terrific but after GoldenEye the scripts and casting were awful. Halle Berry as a Bond girl? Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist? Really??

I was hoping a second viewing would give me a different perspective but this movie was just average. Another viewing didn't help at all.

The opening sequence started so promising and felt like a classic Bond setting. Then instead of doing something smart it fell flat. It set the tone for the movie IMO.

I agree with other that opening song was one of the worst in the history of the franchise.

Some of the action was on the ridiculous side of things but I didn't really mind the reveal at all or the reveal within the reveal. Probably a completely unnecessary tie between characters. But I appreciated them trying to connect the dots between all of the Craig films.

I liked it more than I thought I would.

They missed out on a great opportunity for a classic henchman villain. The guy chasing bond for a good part of the movie was just blah. Had it been used for more of a Jaws type it would have made the movie much better.
