Not true, Foles outplayed Scott in every scrimmage leading up to the 2009 season.
Foles will start Game 1, but if Scott continues to be superior in practice and scrimmages then there will be a short leash. Same situation as last year but in reverse.
Hmm. I thought the refrain from UA coaching on why they didn't get Foles in earlier after his initial success was that he wasn't a "practice player" or Dykes said something along those lines.
I see what you are saying ,but personally see no way Matt Scott is the long term answer at QB. He doesn't know how to read a defense, and while he can learn that, his ball just doesn't look very good either. Very inaccurate in game situations and more of a runner then thrower IMHO.
Conversely I think Foles is the truth and think the defenses, his hurt hand, and teams having tape on him all played into a mediocre finish. I expect him to bounce back.
I don't know anything special either but my percpetion is Scott is a bit of a punk and Foles plays the team leader card like he has always had it.
Guess time will tell, but unless Foles stinks up the joint after 3-4 real games, I see no reason to let ANYTHING Scott does this offseason become the precursor to him being named starter.
Foles earned it on the field.
But your right in that I can see with Stoops not exactly being known for the steady hand and his program needing to show improvement this year, him getting trigger happy and pulling Foles from the job if we dont have success. But I think that would be a mistake.
