I am lame? Cause you were too warm? Grow up Shane seriously, it was not hot in there by any means. Its a football game in Arizona in early Sep. did you expect 70 degrees? As far as can't take it? Your the one complaining, I enjoyed the game and no one where I was at was crying about the temp. So next game if its too hot or not loud enough for you stay home.

I have no complaints about the stadium today. We got into the parking lot uber-quick, quickly through the gate, & we sit in the upper deck & the a/c was perfect. Maybe we're under a vent, I don't know for sure, but I thought it was perfect where we sat today. We also had no problem exiting the stadium & traffic was fine too.

The crowd definitely needs to get more into it, but give them time, they're all new at this :)

We've got 28,000 strong die-hards who know how to lose a voice at a game, we need to teach the other 35,000 how it's done.

BTW, BigTony, nice moves today bud! It's good to see you back on the jumbotron

I echo Vince comments. Even the getting in and out of the stadium part. We made it in no problemo! It wasn't hot in my section 436. The Peas sound was terrible, but I was impressed with the crowd noise for this early season game for this "Haven't ever done anything franchise". It's not Arrowhead type noise yet, but if this franchise competes...that place will rock 'n roll!

The Stadium is AWESOME! I absolutely hate the heat, I was out on the lawn tailgating and was totally miserable, walked in the doors and was fairly comfortable all the way through. The sound, from where I was, section 135, row 5, was fine throughout the game, I could hear the announcer perfectly and the pregame sounded pretty damn good.

The crowd seemed to be highly "new" to the sport, at least near me, cheering at the wrong times, yelling the wrong things at the wrong people and the areas where there were traffic problems, it did not seem to be a design issue or a personnel issue but rather an idiot new fan issue with people deciding that the areas for walking were to be used for gathering spots to block up foot traffic for everyone else...

Concession stands seemed to move quickly for me and the people working them were quick and professional... Of course after leaving a fairly fast moving line I would have to make my way through all of the people "tailgating" on the main concession level...

Overall that place is freaking awesome, you guys are so lucky...

oh yeah, the parking...

It took us about 4 minutes from the freeway to my spot right next to the lawn, at game end everyone was plowing out... 10 minutes total and I was back on the freeway headed home...

(pretty important cuz I had 378 miles to drive to get back to work after the game)

Game: Loved the first half, wish they could have kept it up... the score should have been 42 - 14...

Many fans left with more than 7 minutes remaining, which tells me that they don't know the Cards... I always have to stick around and make sure they don't give it back... Ended with a win so I was stoked...

Took both of my sons, 20 and 25 years old, have never been to a game, they watched every single play in amazement, jumped up out of their seats when they should have and boo'd when they were disappointed... they loved it and both got new jerseys...

The sound was better than the last two games but the concert sound was pretty bad but I was concentrating on Fergie....

The temp in the Club level (NW area) was warmer than the last 2 games but still nice. The concert volcanos must have added about 1,000 degrees every time they went off.....I was checking out the roof material to see if char-up.

The radio broadcast was on AM660 which was very, very weak. However, the mikes are on during the commercials so you can hear Pasch and Wolfley comment on the plays. The signal strength issue forced me to contort like Fergie to get a decent reading.

No your lame because of comments like this: "I guess some people have to complain about everything! I mean seriously it was hot outside and flat out great inside! To complain about the temp of the stadium is just lame. By the way there was a football game played there today might be a better topic."

You seem to think we have no right to voice our opinions about the comfort level of the stadium. Nobody's complaining. Just making observations. Its obvious nobodys complaining when you read my very last sentence in the very first post of this thread. "Glad we won. It wasnt pretty but it worked. Im still ecstatic to be outside Sundevil Stadium even with the minor inconvienences!"

But for some reason you just have to be condescending about other peoples opinions because you are fine with it. Well heres a hint: We arent you!

You nailed it. I couldn't agree more with each of these comments.... way to warm for an air conditioned stadium, the concourses are way to small, and the sound for the BEP concert was all bass and mids, couldn't make out a word they were saying/singing. Awful sound.

From a TV spectators point of view the stadium and game could not get any better. After years of high school crowds we had a full stadium, the fans wore red, the crowd yelled about 10 times more than at Sundevil and we won our home opener at our home field. Does not get any better than this for me. We really looked like an NFL team and actually felt like I was watching one.

I thought the concourses were okay compared to other stadiums I've been to. Getting into and out of the parking lots was pretty quick, IMO. That was a nice suprise since, from what I've read on this board, things sucked during the preseason.

LoL, yep I could feel the blast of heat hitting my face! I too kept looking up to see if the roof had turned black.

I really liked the video intro right before the game - the computer generated (looked like Madden '06) where Big Red plays the entire 49ers team by himself. He threw a pass, and he caught it, and he scores!!

Then it says - We Must Protect our Nest!

I loved that video and the one where the players were saying this is your house. Would have been better if we could here it though.

Shane, you would have lost your freaking mind if you had been at the first pittsburgh game. If you thought the concourses were cramped in this game, they were AWFUL in that game. They are great now, but I have that experience as a measuring stick.

Had a great time at the game yesterday! Parked in the Brown (H) lot for single-game ticket holders and had no problems getting in or out. Taking the shuttle buses was great. Didn't have to wait at all getting over to the stadium and the wait after the game was only a few minutes. Kudos to the "cheap" Cardinal organization. Are you kidding me? Free parking?

My one complaint was the line to get into the stadium. Security is too slow and it was freakin' HOT out there. They need to speed up that process somehow.

We ate in the parking lot, so I didn't have to get concessions, but the people I was with got in and out with no problems. I didn't think the concourses were very crowded for a sold-out sporting event.

They weren't lying when they said that there are no bad seats in Cardinals Stadium. We were in the 10th row of the upper deck and we could see everything well. I wasn't uncomfortable either. It was nice compared to outside. I didn't think it was hot at all.

As for the noise, it wasn't exactly deafening, but it was loud. I saw that Eric Green said the players couldn't hear each other down on the field. Everyone seemed to be yelling from what I could see. Maybe the sound doesn't stay in as well because of the fabric roof or something. Either way, it was 100 times louder than it would have been at SDS.

as far as the AC in the upperdeck goes....think about it.

1.) heat rises, while cool air sinks. its OBVIOUSLY going to be warmer near the top.

2.) the heat is coming from the roof. if your closer to where the heat is coming from, then you are OBVIOUSLY going to be warmer.

no sense in making 40,000 people freezing cold in order to please the upper deckers who are a little warm.

 . Plus I think the players and coaches commented after game 1 about the humidity. I am sure there had to be some reason for the difference. Maybe they were trying to combat that. Remember folks. It was close to 100 degrees outside the stadium. Trying to cool a cavernous stadium 25 or so degrees is a pretty tall task for any system.

Also had a great time yesterday. The shuttle service was outstanding. Coming from the brown lot, there was not wait, and it only took a few minutes to catch a shuttle back after the game. Traffic in and out of the stadium was also a breeze, in spite of my fears before the game.

Concessions also were a breeze, as lines were short and moved quickly. There's just food everywhere, and plenty of carts selling soda and beer.

As for the temp, it was way too warm. Everyone I saw in our section (448) was sweating, some profusely. It's not a function of the crowd or stadium design, as Chase Field is exposed to the summer sun all day before a game, and they still get that thing cooled off in time. Someone just needs to set the A/C down a couple of notches. Just a kink that will get ironed out, I'm sure.

All in all, a great day. Thanks CARDS!

EDIT: Also, while the video boards are great, the sound system was awful.

Or, you could say that there's no sense in having 20,000 people sweat their tails off in order to prevent a few people from being a little too cool. Everyone I saw up top was sweating. I doubt turning the air down a little would've caused the lower bowl to go scrambling for sweatshirts.

.

How early before the game do they bring the grass in? Given how long that takes if they don't do it early enough they're going to lose a lot of cooling when they do that because the stadium isn't "sealed" when they're rolling the grass in? A place of that size is going to take a lot of time to cool off.

I don't think the "fabric" roof can insulate enough to keep the cool air inside from escaping. I sat in 442 and it was perfect temperature but I was in row 3. As for the parking, we got to West orange at 9 a.m. to tailgate no problem but leaving after the game was another story. We were on the South side of the Great Lawn and a car next to us moved just 3 car lengths in 30 minutes. I think next game we need to park at the Soutwest end of the Great Lawn to exit more quickly. Other than that, it was awesome!!

the D-backs don't seem to have a problem with it at their stadium and they play during the dead of summer.

I gotta say - it was weird being in that stadium - after 18 yars of SDS, it almost felt like I was in a visiting stadium just chekcing out the Cards. Don't get me wrong, the place is gorgeous and it's gonna be a great homefield advantage for us if this team really gets rolling, but it was just a little weird after all those years.

I also can't wait to go to a game where the roof is open - that should be awesome!

As far as what everyone else is saying about the AC - I'm with the group scratching their heads about it - I was in the lower deck, 50 yard line, 38 rows up and everyone around me was fanning themselves and wondering why with an AC dome it was still as hot as it was, especially considering most of the same people attend D-Back games and never felt the same issues. So the AC had me scratching my head.

There were other things about the stadium that puzzled me, but for fear of being told my entire life is pathetic and that's I'm some kind of jackass, I'll let those things slide for now...
