All the underdogs won the first round series in the West, while all the favorites won thier first round in the East.

Several of the second round matchups are looking pretty intriguing -- like New Jersey vs, Carolina.

That's bizarre (in the West).

First time in history that the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeded teams won.

Anaheim plays Colorado and Edmonton plays San Jose. One of those teams will be in the finals.

I think Anaheim is poised to return to the finals -- and they may give the Hurricanes/Senators a real run for the Cup.

Interesting that you post the old Sabres logo. Rumor has it Buffalo next year will return to using either a color scheme similar to the old Blue and Gold or to the old logo. Aparently the Buffalo fans really love the vintage colors and logo, but I always liked the Black and Red logo and jerseys they have now.

I just LOVE the old logo.

When I was at a game (back when i was 5 or so) I got a puck that flew into the stands. It has the old logo.

The new one just seems...too new.

What I always liked about the old logo is that it what like one of those "identify the phrase from the pictures" puzzles with a bunch of "+" signs between the pictures.

And you say, oh, let's see . . . Buffalo and swords!! No, wait, Buffalo Sabres!!

interesting.

I really hate how both the bills and sabres changed their unis.

I also loved the bills unis from the 90's.

Detroit out and Ottawa on the ropes down 2-0 to Buffalo, pretty crazy postseason.

and the sharks go up 2-0

fun defensive series - the sharks are actually taking it to edmonton, playing stronger & faster than they are

will need to keep it up and a catch a bounce or two when it goes back to canada and they get their crowd behind them and the legs churning

crazy that the league had them run back to back games

also crazy that the sharks killed a 5 on 3 with 2 defenders missing sticks for a good portion of it (just a shame they gave up a goal very shortly thereafter)

All four series are 2-0, with the home team winning all the games except for Buffalo/Ontario.

If the series continue they way they are going (meaning Carolina, Buffalo, San Jose, and Anaheim win), I'm picking Anaheim to win the cup against Carolina.

Anaheim is scoring lots of goals and they have two hot goaltenders -- and they beat the crap out of the Coyotes all year.

Otherwise, if New Jersey stays alive, I think they win it all.

Wow, the Ducks, Sabres and Canes are all up 3-0, and San Jose leads Edmonton 2-1 currently in game 3. I must say I approve of all victories in the 2nd round...go Ducks, Sabres and Canes :)

As for the Sharks and Oilers...ehhh, I kinda like both teams so I'm hoping it ends up being a 7-game thriller.

I just wish Arizona cable carriers had OLN >=\

directv has OLN and this sharks fan is going into triple OT

kind of disapointed with the early play of the sharks - but they are gutting this one out

hopefully they can pull it off

Watching this game also in the 3rd overtime. I'm rooting for the Oilers to pull back to 2-1.

blah - well played game by the oil

very disapointed in the sharks PP and general mental approach

they need to bring back the effort for game 4, be a little more careful with the puck, start fore checking and producing on the PP

edmonton, as expected, gave their all and played a great game

catch a nap and get ready to do it all again friday

Good game. Although many people can't get OLN, I think their Stanley Cup coverage is very good. I like the way the don't have problems with carrying the CBC games. ESPN would never carry any other games, except the ones they are producing.

I also like watching Bill Clement. I remember first watching him in the late 1980s when he called the Oilers vs. the Flyers (Hextall) series with Mike Emmerick.

I don't have OLN either. Do you have to call and special request.

I love the NHL playoffs....and I can't watch 'em. All I can watch is the NBA playoffs and that is making me very sad.
