if we don't figure out a way to get our QB of the future in this draft because of Blaine Gabbert, I'm going to... probably do nothing as far as the team is concerned, but bitch about it till the cows come home.

He will become the "real Josh MCCown" hahaha :)

Even though he's not a good QB, I'm fine with Gabbert playing. If he plays well, cool. But his resume as a starting QB indicates that it'd be hard to trust him as a QB1 for any franchise. IMO, even if he does succeed and plays well the rest of this season, he's a career backup at best.

I'm glad Gabbert is being given an opportunity with the Cardinals. If nothing else, it's another option to cross off the list.

yeah... for me it's just one more week to have false hope that somehow Gabbert goes nuts and is the feel-good story of the year leading us to an out of nowhere run to the playoffs!

Come on now. I think you already know how this is going to play out. He'll look fantastic for a while, get us close and promptly crap the bed, ruining our draft position. People will have hope for next year, the FO will think he's the answer, then be atrocious next year.

Gabbert might be someone to keep for next season if Palmer retires. I'm not looking for a miracle.

Even if the Cardinals draft a QB, he might not be ready to start.

My fear: Gabbert looks pretty good over the last 7 games. lets say the Cards go 4-3 to finish 8-8

enough good play to make FO think Gabbert is the answer, forcing a big contract in the offseason and no QBoF drafted.

2018 sees Gabbert revert to form....

Very interesting that Barkley is being brought back. Didn't he start with the Cardinals, then go to the Bears and next to the 49ers?
He started with the Eagles. Chip Kelly drafted him then traded him to us for a 7th round draft pick. He never suited up for us.

If Stanton recovers enough to start next Sunday then this is a non story, however if he doesn't and Gabbert starts then this board is going to go bonkers with pro and con comments surrounding Gabbert. It should be an interesting time to say the least for the next 8 days here. I would like to at least see what Gabbert has to offer. My impression is it's either going to be better than anticipated or he is going to fall flat on his face. I don't see an in between.

There’s literally no evidence that this is true. In fact, nearly all the evidence points to the opposite conclusion.
Disagree. Drew may have as many wins as Gabbert in far fewer games, but that is mostly a result of the Cards winning despite Drew than because of him. Gabbert has been on very bad teams his entire career.

Drew is what he is and I believe Gabbert gives Cards a better chance to win now than Stanton.

That doesn't mean I think Gabbert will be a savior by any means.

None of what you just posted actually can be defined as evidence. Blake Bortles was actually better than Gabbert immediately with a similar cast.

One of my favorite movies is Hearbreak Ridge. Not because of the action scenes(which are laughable) but because Clint Eastwood is a quote machine in that movie and in one scene, the company major, who has little respect for Gunny Highway and goes so far to call him a "relic" is reprimanding him for deviating from a mock ambush and even freelancing his platoon, Highway retorts, "I can't fix it if I don't know what's broken." Same here. We don't know what we have in Gabbert. There are examples of QB's languishing in the wrong system or whatnot only to finally click with a certain team/system. Jim Plunkett is the very essence of this. He floundered in New England and then SF until finally landing in Oakland(then LA) where he led them to 2 Super Bowl titles. This is a perfect opportunity to see what the kid can do against an inferior team.

Yet another QB to throw to Fitz.... he’s got hold some type of record for that.
I've posted this before. The list, in numbers only, is impressive. Of all the QB's to throw to him, only Warner and Palmer are/were any good. I mean he's had players from Richard Bartel to Brian Hoyer and every stiff in between.

"Thoroughly" out plays him? Perhaps you're forgetting the reason why a Top-10 pick in 2011 is the 3rd string QB on his third team. It's not because he's been "thoroughly" outplaying guys like Stanton, et al. It's because he's a terrible QB, and his resume is evidence of this statement. If your prognostication is based on playing guys in the preseason who regularly deliver my Amazon packages, then I have some oceanfront property in Peoria I'd like to sell you at a 150% premium.

The problem with that statement is, I have seen Warner and CP have their heads handed to them by Amazon delivery guys in some pre-season games. Just as you can't exalt him on pre-season, you can't completely dismiss him for his play on 2 of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL.

(although I think the Jags are crawling up out of that hole and I actually believe SF is restarting and would be doing much better without their injury list, an argument Cardinal fans seem to embrace with their own injury list)

If he can do well on this dumpster fire of a team, he definitely has the makings of a decent QB. If he does well, I fully expect us to let him go and some other team to pick him up and have decent success with him. It's the Big Red Way.

Best all around wide receiver to ever play the game, in my opinion.

No way. Rice is the best football player ever. Dude did everything... caught over the middle, went deep, ran away from everyone with "bad" speed and blocked.

But Larry's an all-time great, without a doubt.
