What amazes me is that we still don't really know what the plot is. Amazing how they are keeping it under raps so well.

I visit a lot of the "spoiler sites" and while they have rumors and supposed leaks even they don't have a complete picture of the movie.

D23 is coming up in August and then "Force Friday" is Sept 4...I expect more will leak then but nothing to give away the story. Maybe we will see an image of Andy Serkis' mo-cap character (Snoke) and have a character description for Max Von Sydows character...maybe a poster release.

During the Prequels the movie novel was always released a few days prior to the movie...this time around the novel isn't being released until 2 weeks after the movie (although it will be available as a digital release the day of the movie), this goes to show how badly they want to keep audiences "spoiler free".

Don't forget the Phantom Menace soundtrack - released two weeks prior to the film - with tracks like:

9. "Anakin Defeats Sebulba" 4:24
15. "Qui-Gon's Noble End" 3:48
16. "The High Council Meeting and Qui-Gon's Funeral" 3:09

I think Abrams and Lucasfilm is doing their best to avoid that type of stuff this time around. Sometimes too many plot leaks kill a movie at the box office (Terminator Genisys).

So stoked about this movie. I can't wait. It's going to be another couple months before we see the next full blown trailer.

J.J. Abrams Broke His Back While Filming 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jj-abrams-broke-his-back-812387?facebook_20150731

Harrison Ford famously broke his ankle last year while filming the upcoming Star Wars sequel, The Force Awakens. But what didn't leak out from the highly secretive set is that director J.J. Abrams also broke his back at the same time, while he was trying to help Ford.

Ford, who's reprising his role as Han Solo, broke his ankle when the hydraulic door of the Millennium Falcons accidentally pushed down, bending the actor's ankle 90 degrees. Abrams explained on Thursday night's Daily Show, though, that he too got injured at the same time, breaking his back as he was trying to help lift the door after Ford injury.

Abrams, in keeping with his top-secret approach to movies and TV shows he works on, didn't tell anyone about his own injury, he told Stewart, revealing he wore a back brace under his clothes. And, Abrams explained, Ford seemed to recover much faster than he did.

"The guy is like a real life superhero," Abrams said of Ford. He explained that a few months later, he was still wearing the back brace when, "Harrison Ford, from across the stage, sprints at me faster than I will ever run. And he's like, 'Hey J.J.!' And I'm like, 'Hi, Harrison Ford.' Ooh it hurts to talk that way. I felt like the most nebbishy Jewish director ever."

Stewart wondered why no one noticed what would seem to be a bulge under Abrams' clothes, but the director said it actually held everything in, like Spanx.

"I felt a little bit like I was on Baywatch," Abrams said of wearing the brace.

Abrams was ostensibly on the show to promote Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, which he produced, but all Stewart wanted to talk about was Star Wars. Abrams, however, did want to pay tribute to the outgoing Daily Show host, a week before Stewart's final episode.

That sword is still idiotic.

No argument here, the rest of the costume looks pretty good though.

In the article it says the lightsaber was home made and he was by no means an expert at building them, so that may explain some of it.

Unless it is cut apart during the very first light sabre duel, this will be an inadequate explanation.

Maybe the Knights of Ren used weapons with a cross-guard. Then when he built a lightsaber, he made it in the same style as a first attempt. Based on the red blades looking so wavy, it seems pretty clear this thing isn't particularly well-made or stable.

I don't have a problem with the sword either. In fact, I think it might be symbolic in someway to the story. Maybe the First Order sees themselves as crusaders of sorts.

Right, but the minute a light sabre blade hits that cross-guard, it'll be sheared apart and the dude will lose a hand. Or should.

I'll only be okay with it if the guy put midichlorians in the cross-guard LOL

You aren't a real Jedi until you lose a hand or two.
