Lucas has supposedly said before that Fett didn't die in Jedi, him coming back would be more acceptable (and welcomed) by the fans...Vader? I think there would be a mass protest.

I agree. That story has been told. It's time to move on. Isn't the bigger story about the survival of the remnants of the Empire and the Sith? The vacuum of power that probably resulted in the destruction of the Empire?

All the Kevin Smith hate is a bunch of hooey. It's not supposed to be intellectual cinema (although I'll argue that Chasing Amy is a hell of a social commentary). It's just plain fun...for those that like his stuff. I am solidly in that camp.

Love all his movies. Yes they are very rich in dialogue and may fall short at times in other catagories but that is ok. The dialogue is always fantastic.

Clerks one had amazing dialogue but just wasnt as funny as the others. I thought clerks 2 was a great blend of clerks 1 dialogue and strike backs humor, gold mine in my eyes.

Dogma was awesome too.

You are correct, it is fun if you like his stuff.

I am right there with you. My poke was more to do with my man crush on Jason Lee. Look at my signature, I have been a fanboy of his since Clerks. That is my original signatreu from 2003.

With that being said, he has some bombs in there.

2011 - Red State - I thought this was really underrated
2010 - Cop Out - Not desire to see
2008 - Zack and Miri Make a Porno - A decent comedy
2006 - Clerks II - Lackluster follow up, but still really funny
2004 - Jersey Girl - meh
2001 - Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back - It is what it is, stupid funny.
1999 - Dogma - Above Average
1997 - Chasing Amy - Best of the bunch, an all time fav or mine.
1995 - Mallrats - Loved it and even saw it in the thearter, twice.
1994 - Clerks - Classic

Kevin smith

imagine it, a star wars movie with GOOD dialogue

Ah yes, the master of the two-shot. The whole movie would take place in the cockpit of the 'Falcon. It would be funny, I'm sure.

QT is out. He crapped all over the Disney acquisition in EW magazine.

I am OK with familiar faces in a cameo fashion or secondary capacity. I want the next generation not Star Wars with walkers (non empire variety).

Kasdan wrote Empire Strikes Back. How anyone can think that is a bad thing is beyond me.

Agreed. I would've been satisfied with Jake Kasdan, but Lawrence is a very positive sign.

Not saying it's a bad thing. I was responding to the blogger's opinion that this will lead to a story featuring familiar faces. It's just his opinion so he could very well be wrong. But if we get a continuation of the Luke/Han/Leia story line then I'm going to be disappointed. It may be well written but I want something new.

If anyone's seen anything kasdan's written in the last ten years, they have some good reasons to be skeptical.

That vein said, these movies can't possibly be worse than phantom menace and clones, so I got very little problem Trying to reach into the way back machine to rejuvenate Tge franchise.
