OK, in that short TV spot (20 second mark) it's pretty obvious Kylo is not some guy just running around as a simple wannabe. I mean, it appears in the other trailer he using the force to interrogate. However, in this one, he is good enough in the force that he deflects blasters and appears to use a force push after.

OMG this movie can't get here soon enough!!!!!

By the way, really not directly related to this movie but still love it. Luke's original name in the first draft of the script was Luke Starkiller. They should have kept that name. LOL.

OK, anybody else hate the last few weeks before release? I do because this is the time where all the related marketing starts to come out. Meaning, toy commercials, co-advertising on the Disney channel and stuff like that which shows one clip here or one clip there. Perhaps 2 seconds of new footage etc.

I have seen so many new scenes or imagery from the movie that is starting to feel like it's giving away too much. I hate the last leg before a huge movie comes out because of what cross marketing starts to reveal. I want there to be some surprises during the movie.

Yeah, I've stopped watching any of the new trailers since the one that was supposed to be the last one, I've been avoiding any articles on it too. I don't want to be sitting there 1:40 minutes into the movie knowing some scene from the trailer hasn't happened yet and now understanding the significance before hand.

The only quote missing is, "don't get cocky kid..." Everything old is new again ;-)

Did anybody else notice in that last TV spot that someone is talking to Kylo? That someone is who I suspected is the real puppet master. A new Sith Master pulling Kylo's strings. I think this TV spot confirms it. My guess is just like in the original trilogy he is very much a background figure in the shadows until the next movie.

That was Andy Serkis' mo capped character Supreme Leader Snoke, not a Sith though, Abrams confirmed that but did say he is someone who is a dark sider.

Snoke has still yet to be revealed visually, Serkis said he is very large and would not have been possible without CG.

Ahhh...that's right. Forgot about Snoke. Although, there is always a Master and Apprentice with the Sith. It might be a last minute reveal just like Luke.

If Luke ends up being the bad guy, I'm gonna be pissed.

You and my buddy both. He said, if Luke hadn't already turned, given the circumstances in Jedi, he would never turn. It's a walk-out offense for him. My walk out offense would be returning Vader, and a close second would be someone else pretending to be Vader for a prolonged period of the movie.

But the trailers look good, and I'm excited. My friend took a lot more convincing--the prequels really burned him more than most people, in his view--but he came around and will be watching it.

returning Vader would be even more ridiculous then Bad Luke. If they go Bad Luke, they better have a GREAT reason for doing so. But i'm afraid that JJ goes this way. His stuff is always really slick, fun and entertaining, but more often then not REALLY derivative. My BIGGEST fear? We see Luke following in the footsteps of his father and striking down one of his best friends (Han) towards the end of the movie, which spurs on whoever the lead is in the series. That seems like JUST the kind of fan service, inversion of what's come before (like the complete inverted rip-off I hated in Star Trek Into Darkness).

Not gonna happen. Don't fret it.

But seeing as how everything old is new again or so it seems, I have a feeling Rey and Kylo are related in some way - brother and sister? Cousins? Or maybe farther fetched, Luke is Kylo's father. Just my speculation on some rumors.

Yeah, that would be weak sauce.

I think he is just a hermit type guy which they will need to find to help in the end. Still on the good side.

Not going to happen (Bad Luke). One of the toy lines already dispelled this notion. Luke was referred to as "the last Jedi".

So basically, we know the Jedi order was never rebuilt and he is the last of his kind. So, he has to continue or there would be nobody to teach the next generation of Jedi.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! THANKS FOR THE FRICKIN SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been avoiding all the stupid in-depth trailers because they tend to give plot stuff away much more than in the past. I didn't think anybody would do something this egregious in the comments before the frickin movie!

I guess you've avoided EVERY FRIGGIN STORE selling ANY Star Wars toys, games, mac & cheese, and pretty much everything else that's been PLASTERED with Star Wars branding?

It's not like he said Finn dies because you can see Rey mourning over his corpse if you freezeframe the right spot on one of the trailers. ;)

Yes, I have. We live in a time where people are obsessed with finding things out about a movie before it comes out, and since I hate that, I've learned how to avoid it. I'm very much ignoring everything Star Wars now.

The posters on here usually have the decency to not feed into it, putting such information into spoilers. I get posting all the new trailers--I'm able to simply not watch them if I choose--but I didn't realize I'd need to start avoiding this thread for the above reason. Ugh.

When in doubt, please use spoiler tags. This has been a rule forever, so even if there is the tiniest chance of spoilers, just use the tags! It's what they are there for.

It's not confirmed nor is it 100% certain. It's only speculation based on the toy line. So, I treat that stuff just like everything else....rumor because it's still speculation. It's not like one of the toys said "LUKE you are the last Jedi" or anything like that.

If it was a 100% certain confirmation I would have used spoiler tags. I guess we should continue to put spoiler tags around Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker being the same person too. :sarcasm:
