Life without Levi
http://blog.azcardinals.com/2012/08/20/life-without-levi/#comment-79613

Enough. You lying, fibbing base of people who are using an injury for a chance to falsely call out fellow fans who disagree with you about something. For shame.

First, let's get this straight. Yes, there are fans that did not want Levi Brown on this team. I am one of them. But, I, and other like me wanted Levi Brown REPLACED. I didn't want Levi Brown hurt. I didn't want Levi Brown hurt, and with no one to back up him, or replace him. Nobody wanted that, and to say/imply that is wrong, false, and downright shameless since it wreaks of hiding behind an injury to try and make a point. Even worse a false point.

Again, we didn' want Levi Brown gone, we wanted him replaced. Remember back in free agency ? Demetrius Bell, Jeff Backus, King Dunlap, Matt Starks, Cordy Glenn, Matt Kalil, Riley Reiff, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc. Those are replacements.

When Levi Brown was signed, we were not happy. When Levi Brown was signed and no other tackles were brought in, we were livid.

Now Levi Brown is hurt. We have no replacement, no back-up, and no depth. Now to throw that on the fase base is disgusting.

We didn't take 8 months too many to resign Calais Campbell. We didn't keep Kevin Kolb at his audacious salary. We didn't draft a WR when we needed offensive line help NOW.

So, take your guilt trip and shove it. Cause I don't feel guilty cause what the situation was, and what it is being made out to be now, are completely different. I have NO IDEA who Urban and the rest are talking about.

:mulli:

PS - Levi Brown has sucked for years, and the Cardinals have done nothing about it. Scores of highly respected media personal have said as much for decades. So, why isn't Urban, and his band of "I told you so's" not attacking, and have not been attacking the media for year ?

PSS - I be sure to come back here to this thread, if on the highly unlikely chance, the Cardinals luck out and get a LT that plays better than Brown. Cause then you know....it is I told you so time again.

urban for sure has a arrogant tone with fans but I am sure he deals with alot of idiots. Even still, no need to be a smug prick.

Urban lost any and all credibility the second the Cards started writing his checks.

I didn't have a problem with this article. I do have a problem with the Cards being caught with their pants down (insert Singletary joke here) with no legit replacement on the roster. We could have weathered an injury to any other spot on the O line but LT is kind of important.

I see both sides.

Urban is right in saying "Be careful what you wish for" for wishing him gone.

However, Rugby is right in saying that no wished him to be gone with no alternative. That would be dumb.

Rugby is implying that Urban was saying that fans wished Levi would have gotten hurt. A complete leap in logic and bone headedly false.

Says you.

Rugby is implying that Urban was saying that fans wished Levi would have gotten hurt. A complete leap in logic and bone headedly false.

That is what he is implying as far as I am concerned. Actually to be accurate, I am not saying Urban said the fans wanted Levi Brown hurt (and you can re-read my initial post for that). I am saying Urban said the fans wanted Levi Brown gone. Which is true, but not in the sense he is accusing.

I welcome your insight, but I will also consider the source.............................come to think of it both sides sources should be considered. :D

If I am over-reacting then you are being a Cardinal apologist.....or something like that. Let me check my 5th grade rules of the school yard book and get back to you.

Nowhere in my intial post does is say that. NOWHERE!

Here is what he said:

"Be careful what you wish for" - Yeah, cause that definately is no implying anything. :sarcasm:

"Now, because of Brown’s torn triceps, the Cards and their fans will see what life without Levi is really about." - Too bad there is not a replacement so the fans could actually see what life without Levi Brown as our left tackle and someone else playing the position is all about.

Your an over reactor have been for years. Its cool its who you are. We still love you! ;)

I appreciate it. We must be accepting, it is like not letting you rain on everyone's parade and taking opposite side for the sake of taking opposite sides. You have been doing it for years. We still love you!

Doh.... My sarcastic wise-arsisry reply would have been better if I overreacted. Next time!

;)

Oh... and the book says we meet at the Flag pole at 3pm, and call each other names till one us cries and tells a teacher.

I guess we just could continue to through tongue in cheek digs at each other, until we cry, and complain to Chris_Sanders ?

Things were easier when we were kids. Ca-ca-duty head would have brought the tears!

The point still remains. Use all the symantics, play on words, or double meanings you want.

The "bad fans" wanted a replacement. Not for Levi to be gone/hurt/no there with no replacement.

To imply, adhere to, etc., etc. is simply uncalled for and not true. To call out the fan base on the offical site ? even worse.

Straight from Urban's text.

Be careful what you wish for.

"It’s hard not to hear that cliché echo when it comes to the loss of left tackle Levi Brown. The drumbeats from the fans to get rid of him over the years — and which reached their peak this spring after he was released, before he was re-signed — have always been steady. The overall opinion of Brown couldn’t have been more different between the team and its fanbase.

Now, because of Brown’s torn triceps, the Cards and their fans will see what life without Levi is really about."

Take Shane and I out of it, and people can decide for themselves. Cause in fairness to Shane, I can be a little "explosive" LOL !!!!! And in this case? I am downright pissed. Urban is not the frist that has said this stupidity.

Since we re-signed Brown, I have been saying the situation "is what it is", and that is the truth. What is really surprising ? The shock of "what don't have another LT", yeah, well duh! Those same "jerks" who supposidely wanted Levi Brown gone so bad where also saying something about that as well. Hopefully we will all get an another "I told you so" and a LT will magically appear for the Cardinals in 2012.

Who cares what Urban says, he's the same chump saying the QB competition is still tight. I'm used to his douchebaggery.

However, I will say that he can never claim to be an objective reporter after going on the official site and basically going, "Na-na" at the fans who didn't like Levi as our starting LT. Not very professional in my opinion.

I'm a huge Levi supporter (someone gotta stick up for the dude) but I hope I'm totally wrong and have been for years, and whoever we get to replace him comes in and plays so solid that he takes Levi's job. I'd be fine with that.

You can almost picture Rod Graves standing over his shoulder as he typed that article.

"What was that last thing you said, Mr. Graves?"

Have not liked Urban since the day he wrote a brief mention of Skkorp's passing and tastelessly said that he had only met Skkorp on a couple of occasions but questioned his credentials and referred to him as being negative. Talk about classless.

I'm a huge Levi supporter

And I am not.

And that is where it really should have ended, IMO.

I didn't want to keep him this offseason, didn't want to re-sign him, and was not happy when we did re-sign him. But, I accepted it and moved on.

Going in 2012, I was not happy with Levi Brown at LT, but I would have to be completely out of my mind, at this point and time, with no other options left to be had, to want to see "what life is like without Levi Brown".

In March, with options on the table, I definitly wanted to see "what life is like without Levi Brown", sure.

But now ? Come on. Let's be sane about the situation, that is just silly.

Well, Graves is another person I would like to see what life would be like without, and THAT situation can happen at anytime as long as Steve Keim is around when it happens.

To be fair though, I like that the Cardinals defend Mr. Levi Brown. They should for the position they put the man in. Levi Brown gives effort, and passion to this team, it is not his fault he is playing where he is playing, IMO.

As good or bad ad Levi has been, he has been the best OT on our roster since Gandy left.

Did we need to upgrade BOTH OT positions? Yea for several years now.

I didnt mind Brown back at right tackle, if we upgraded the left tackle.

We did neather and we look stupid right now imo.

Graves 2012 is a different dude though, it seems as if he is listening to the smarter people in the club now. The young Bidwill should get some propolas too. While they may not be soley resposible for the changes being made, they are the decision makers. Grimm might single handedly sink some jobs this year, it would be 3 years in a row of pitiful BOTTOM OF THE LEAGUE O-line play that resulted in numerous QB injuries.

DARREN URBAN Blog

The passing of a Cards' fan

Jim Skane isn't the first Cardinals' fan to pass away, nor will he be the last. But he had a slightly higher profile than most, given that he set up the Arizona Sports Fans Network, a internet message board that allowed fans of all Arizona sports teams too discuss their sports but had as its foundation Skane's love for the Cards. He could sway toward the glass-is-half-empty, but he always wanted to believe. I knew him a little, meeting him a handful of times a few years ago when he had managed to acquire press credentials.

He even posted this here after Mitch claimed he was tasteless:

I understand it has been a difficult day for all of you. All I wanted to do was to say something about's Jim's passing from my perspective, which was as an outsider at best. The Cards have lost a true fan. RIP, Jim.
