It's fairly obvious he is trolling. Please do not spread unfounded rumors on this board. You can go to other places for crap like that.

Listen Sanders, there is no trolling here, I found it interesting that Steve Francis was at Starbucks in Arizona the day after he got bought out....From now on I will not bring my insider info to this board...Sanders your lucky i am retaining myself from personal attacks for fear of banishment...and Francis is in AZ...

Francis is a shell of his former self. BUT, at a min contract it'd be hard to turn him away.

I can't imagine any situation where I would want Francis on the Suns. I've hated him since the day he was drafted by the Grizzlies and pouted like a 2 year old (which I still maintain is a large reason why they're now in Memphis), and I still hate him now. There are lots of players I hate that I would tolerate if they were on the suns but Francis will never be one of them.

Not even then would I want him here. He's a black hole, and a cancer. No good can come from sigining Steve Francis....

Saying you saw an athlete at a Starbucks is not "insider info".

If you spoke to said athlete and he said "Oh yeah I am working out for the Suns!"

That would be insider info. If I believed you actually saw Steve Francis, and I don't, it certainly doesn't warrant a thread where you make the prolific leap of logic that Francis getting coffee in the state of Arizona equals potential to come to the Suns.

Francis, Marbury, and Iverson are all throwbacks to the old isoloation play days before the defensive rules changed to permit partial zones. All of them are "volume scoreres" who have to dominate the ball and do not shoot a high percentage. Iverson is the best of the bunch, but all suffer from not changing with the times.

I do not recall ever hearing this about a players buyout.

The Blazers negotiated a buyout of Steve Francis' contract, believed to be around $30 million of the $33 million he was owed. Francis was acquired from New York in the draft-night trade that included the Blazers sending Zach Randolph to the Knicks. Pritchard said the Blazers reached an agreement to buyout Francis before the trade was finalized. Pritchard said part of the negotiation included the Blazers getting a 50 percent "offset", meaning the team receives a 50 percent kickback for the next two seasons from the free agent contract Francis signs this summer ... The team also finalized its draft-day trade with Phoenix, officially acquiring small forward James Jones and the Suns' No. 24 overall pick, Spanish shooting guard Rudy Fernandez. Fernandez will remain overseas this season, but is expected to join the Blazers for the 2008-09 season

how can this be? George has already declared there's almost no shot of him coming here and has read several articles to back that up.

Aside from the fact Francis can provide nothing the team needs or wants does anyone remember him taking shots at D'Antoni and his coaching style in '04 and D'Antoni firing back?

Obviously the Blazers hope he will come over. However, to do so will mean an absolutely huge cut in pay. His NBA starting salary will $813,000 BEFORE tax. The Spanish league pays as much or more than any in Europe and that is "after tax".

Here is blogger who presents the issue better than I can:

that's nice - some complete random blogger on the internet is your source that makes you believe it is a VERY REAL/HIGH probability that he won't come here/you wouldn't bet on him ever coming over here? That explains a lot to me. Now go and call me a hater or something else inflammatory as you are apt to do and be on your way George.

I explainted my rationale and somebody showed some of the math. Obviously Fernandez may take the huge pay cut and you'll be right, but I was dead set against the Suns taking him for exactly this reason.

As for accusing YOU of being a hater, I find it interesting that for someone who is constantly attacking people you have a terribly thin skin. My use of the term "hater" had to do with people who seem to be unreasonably unhappy with D'Antoni. I did not pick on you or Ouchi or anyone in particular.

But you do. There is a minor item in an article that was not even about Fernandez and you immediately went on the attack on me, slam my response and then get into a thing about me attacking you as a hater. I know you don't like me and I can live with that, but you are getting pretty tiring.

right, because neither me nor Ouchie had commented on DA's comments about bending to the Spurs will just a couple posts previous, which you deemed a staple "of the HATER argument". But yeah, that phrase wasn't meant for us - and even if it wasn't, it's still inflammatory crap that only an idiot would say because it's the idiot's way of trying to debate - when there's no substance left, people attack - as you did.

I know you don't like me and I can live with that, but you are getting pretty tiring.

George, I'm not sure why you think I don't like you - I find you to be hilarious and relish reading your posts as it's constant entertainment for me, but if I'm getting tiresome, you DO have a choice not read what I say. Just put me on ignore and be done with it. Otherwise, when you say something out of this world as you are apt to do, I'm gonna respond.

i do find it funny that you choose to attack (and make no mistake about it, you do attack) george for using words like "hater" when you really focus on him quite a bit. i think you love him.

Cheese, you didn't suggest Larry Brown as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns, so I still haven't put you on ignore yet.

I just meant it will be easier for George with the way you go after him.

don't worry Joe - I wouldn't and don't take offense. It's probably a much better board if George ignores my responses to his posts. I don't go after him the way I do on purpose, it's just that most of the time I find his thoughts to be so unbelievably illogical that there's nothing I can do to hide the incredulousness in my head when I respond to him. I'm just surprised it took me telling him to put me on ignore to figure it out that was probably the way to go.
