He reminds me of a poor man's Kenneth Faried. Faried has more offensive game but Harrell right now just playing with a ton of energy on both sides of the basketball. He's not "skilled" yet. But if he can keep up the energy, he should find a roster spot in the NBA eventually with his size.

yep that's his role right now. If he can develop range to even 10-12 feet it will really help him.

Great kid though, works really hard.

norman Powell got a 3 year deal today from Toronto, 2 years guaranteed plus an option for the 3rd. Great kid, stuck it out through the end of the Howland era got a new life under Alford and stuck around and got his degree.

Very happy to see guys like that get rewarded.

Suns blow them out, 106-80, with the "big 4" looking pretty good. Booker had a great game, hit a few threes. Archie was getting quite a few steals. TJ was TJ (23 pts), and Len was one board away from a double-double.

He's much further along but similar to Cliff Alexander, great athlete but undersized 4 with no face up game.

I know this is kind of a lame thing to nitpick, but it always bothers me a little bit. Teams just don't care that much anymore about how tall somebody is from head to toe.. Sure, Harrell is 6'7.5", but he was a muscular 253 pounds at the combine before he even gets started with team trainers. More importantly he has a massive wingspan (7'4") and ideal standing reach of 9'1". Alexander isn't quite as strong, but he is every bit as long and still just shy of 240 pounds.

Totally agree with the rest of your assessment, but they aren't undersized.

Joe

So far, I have been very pleased with summer league.

Devin Booker: 13 ppg, 4.5 rb (good for a guard) in 28.5 mpg. Struggled to find the NBA three range in the first two games, but had it dialed in by game 3. Shot 50% from three in the last two. Moves effortlessly on the court, plays good D, and shows very good athleticism which had been the knock on him.

TJ Warren: 20.2 ppg, 2.8 rb. in 30.5 mpg. Consistent scorer within the flow, but has also showed good passing skills and decent defense except when in a size mismatch. He really has star potential. That rebounding number is bad though.

Alex Len: 12.2 ppg. 10.3 rb. in 24.7 mpg. Those numbers don't do him justice. This is a different team with Alex on the court. Also, since tapouts don't count as offensive rebounds, his rebound numbers are actually low. Defense and rebounding was what I was hoping to see from Alex. We have too many offensive players on this team for him to get enough touches to dominate offensively.

Archie: 16.8 ppg, 5 rb. in 25.8 mpg. Archie did what he does best, drive to the hoop and score or go to the foul line. He shot .333 from 3 which is an improvement but needs to be better. High volume of shots.

The Suns are shooting 4-20 late in first quarter. Warren, especially, is missing some easy shots.

Len already has 2 PFs.

The summer Suns off to a rough start tonight. Shots are there, just not falling. Len looks especially bad tonight. Is it to late to package him in a trade??? Kidding!

Bobby Portis is looking like he will be a player but so is Devin Booker.

The Suns looked tentative early including Len. I'm not sure why.

Len just does not know how to be an offensive player consistently or how to use his body. He still seems weak.

Len did not play well and went out with 3 PFs. Devin Booker looks like the most poised player for the Suns. This is surprising as he is only 18.

The Suns trail the Bulls 40-36 at halftime and are lucky to be this close. If Archie can get the ball on the fastbreak he knows how to get to the rim.

Suns cut it to 4 at half with most Bulls starters in foul trouble. I like the energy of Booker and Goodwin keeping the Suns in the game.

It seemed like Harrellson anchored the Suns inside with Len out but the stats don't show it. He is not the most mobile player but he seems to know where to be on the court which helps him compensate.

Warren needs to learn how to finish shots.

That's basically his best trait.

IMO, some of his shots look lackadaisical tonight. He reminds me a bit of Shawn Marion when he pushes the ball up on some short shots.
